My First Book.
« on: May 04, 2016, 07:20:29 AM »

Dear SAS’ers and Il-2’ers,

I have begun writing my own book about WWII. The book will focus on air combat if the war had continued past 1945.  I will be using SAS as a means of information and would love to know ideas, thoughts, or info pertaining to the overall plot. I have already written the first page and will post it soon. I hope you guys enjoy and when I presumably finish it, I will dedicate it to SAS and all of its members.

The book will be titled, "Air Combat WWII, 1946-1947, The Alternate Years".

Sincerely,

James/PvF

Here is the first draft of the intro. Enjoy!

Air Combat WWII, 1946-1947
The Alternate Years

The year is 1947; World War Two is still raging. In 1945 the Soviets abruptly pulled out of the war when Joseph Stalin died suddenly from a heart attack. Shortly after, the Soviet Union erupted into revolution as political parties fought for control of the government. As the revolution raged, the USSR’s borders shrunk back allowing Germany to reclaim much of its lost territory. By May of ’45 Germany had successfully pushed the British and Americans back to within a few miles of The Third Reich’s original borders. By needing to suddenly fight only a one-front war, Germany had been relieved of great pressure. This relief is allowing it to concentrate on much needed re-arming and re-stocking of its armed forces.
The RLM and the Luftwaffe have used this gained time to increase production of fighter and strike aircraft. Along with conventional aircraft production, the RLM has given the go-ahead to several companies to explore new designs for combat aircraft. The need for these designs is great, for the USAAF continues to fly strategic bomber missions with near impunity into the skies over the Fatherland.

More coming soon.

Sincerely,

James

Page two:

January 1 1947: U.S. sends a flight of 6 B-29 equipped with nuclear devices for an attack against Cologne.
Two bombers have to return for technical difficulties, one gets shot by AAA, the other three raze Cologne to the ground.
January 4 1947: Waiting for the germans to come to reason...
January 6 1947: U.S. sends another flight of 6 B-29 equipped with nuclear devices for an attack against Hamburg.
This time all bombers reach their target. Hamburg and anything sorrounding it is history.
January 9 1947: Still waiting for the germans to come to reason...
January 11 1947: U.S. sends another flight of 6 B-29 equipped with nuclear devices for an attack against Berlin.
Germans desperately try to defend their capital city, however 2 bombers manage to reach their target. Berlin is history.
January 12 1947: Unconditional surrender of Germany.

The End :P

Version A: "For reasons unexplored in this book, Germany is still in fight in 1947..."

Version B: "The failure of D-Day and the sudden death of Stalin a few days later..."

Nevermind  ;D  ;)

So let me get this correctly? You will ask us questions, you then take the answer you like best and pawn it off as your own? Cool! Where do I sign up?

Plausible! Except the the January 1 1947 event. Neither fission nor fusion are triggered by impact.

... in 1947 a UFO crashes in Roswell, New Mexico.
The aliens come looking for their friends but they are all dead. The USA blames the
Germans and the Aliens kill everyone in Europe with a Death-Ray !

This would make an excellent Hollywood sci-fi movie  :D

Interesting Max.  Kurt Vonnegut postulated in "The Sirens of Titan" that Stonhenge, when seen from outer space, read:  "Waiting on parts.  Help is on the way".  Maybe you hit it on the head.

Cheers

Any scneario is plausible as long as it has some plausible proofs behind it.
Many years ago I read a book named "Fatherland" (by Robert Harris) which gave another idea why
the Germans won WW2 and how life would be like in Europe in the 1950 and 1960s.

It is a sort of Crime-Noir novel which became a best-selling book, They even made
a film using parts of the story from this book.

Maybe @P51vsFw190 can get some ideas from this book.
