Chu Lai Air Base South Vietnam is coming along.  Thanks theOden for noticing it was missing.  Seems like a cool USMC base for some Skyhawk operations, having a short field arrestor system and weird runway layout.  Does anybody have a decent layout/map of Chu Lai?  I'm going off of google earth and the outlines of what was Chu Lai and this not very detailed image.

I'll need to make some corrections now that I can see what is going on with runways and taxiways and roads.

Chu Lai runways and taxiways done, now to put a couple hundred buildings/tents/Quonset huts.

Very interesting project !

Question : I guess all bases/airports are not suitable for big birds like the B-52... so... which ones can be used for take-off and landing of these huge planes ???

O Club, yes.  Surf Area, I'll leave up to the mission makers discretion, I'll add a dock and what not.

Something tells me the image of a B-52 is where B-52s were stationed at U-Tapao from 1967 until 1973. See post #25 from gunny for more details. 
I've been able to take off and land a KC-135 on the major airfields.
