Hi,
I just came back to SAS 1946 after flying with CUP for several weeks and realized that in meantime module 1 and 3 (which I'm using) has got new parts. Now, can I just download the new parts and install them in IL-2 '46 or do I have to reinstall everything from scratch? And does WAW part 9 and 10 of  completely replace WAW parts 1-8, thus making them obsolete?
Thanks.

if you have not installed any additional mods yourself, you are good to go to install waw 9 and 10 according to the instructions monty provided. they do not replace parts 1-8, they ADD to them. be sure to follow the instructions (like to disable all optional JSGME mods you might have activated first).
same goes to the updated map packs, you should have no problem with installing the new parts over your existing installation as long as you did not add other mods by yourself.

Cup crashs and with this error message:
"IL-2DOF/TIR enabled executable for modded Il-2 Sturmovik 1946 work no longer"

Then when I will use the time accelerator the game run like in slow motion, pic for pic.

Befor I will forget this. Is CUP the official follower of DBW and can I use the DBW Campaigns?

Thx & Horrido
Printe

can only guess without seenig the ending of your logfile. but usually for a clean installation of CUP these errors come from the faulty visualmod (crash) and missing wepeffects OR too long air.ini for slow time accelerator performance.

Dechiper, thanks for your quick answer but I'm a bit confused now. In instal notes of WAW 9 and 10 it says the following:
"
***********************************
A FRESH NEW DEFINITIVE #WAW FOLDER
***********************************

JSGME DISABLE ALL OPTIONS PREFIXED #CUP AND #WAW

Pre-Install - Rem (add a Minus) rename your current #WAW to -#WAW

To install - UnRAR/UnZIP direct to main Il2 directory, overwrite when prompted:

Your old -#WAW may be safely deleted at your convenience.

Your new #WAW is the ultimate up to date reference to this point.

Several specialist packages and upgrades to follow in the near future reference this folder in this form.

JSGME ENABLE REQUIRED OPTIONS PREFIXED #CUP AND #WAW  (user preferences)

It is safe to add your options now and continue enjoying CUP World at War.
"

In other words there is a #WAW file in part 9 and 10, and it won't install itself in the old #WAW file (because of the - suxif), moreover it is instructed that the old #WAW file (now with -) can be deleted. So what is it, do I install in the old file or follow the instructions?

HRC:

Yes it was a little misleading:)

Very simple:

rename the original WAW folder with a "  -  "  (with out the quotes).  This will disable the WAW folder.

unzip WAW parts 1-11 in order to your IL2 CUP directory. <<====  See Post 1526 of this thread

And that's it :)

The WAW parts will automatically create a new WAW folder.

DO NOT FORGET THE FOLLOWING

Deactivate ALL JSGME mods

Make sure IL2 is completely closed

Make sure you are up to date on the Map Expansions.  I think it is up to 11 now.

Happy flying.

Any problems just post it here.

Hmmm I just followed the directions, I didn't reinstall #WAW parts 1-8 after I renamed (-#WAW). I just downloaded and installed parts 9 & 10. Everything seems to be working OK.

I'm confused now, should I have reinstalled parts 1-8?

:))

If I have this right, I believe this is what happened.  Please correct me if I am wrong.

Monty had initially uploaded a bad WAW part 09 module that dink'ed up a few things.  He had since corrected it.  I am assuming that the instructions for installing the new part 09-10 took this into consideration and assumed that the bad part 09 had already been installed.  If you had not installed the bad part 09 you should have been ok.  Either way reinstalling all the modules will do no harm.  I believe he designed it that way to make it a simple fix if something went wrong with one of the modules.

Clear as Mud? :))  I hope I explained it correctly.  <<====  See Post 1526 of this thread

Just curious Kevin. When you installed parts 09 and 10.  Did you rename the "#WAW" folder to "-#WAW" and then install Part 09 and 10?  I'm not sure how that could have worked with out Parts 1-08, but I may be missing something.

I did... I renamed it -#WAW (after making a backup copy), D/L parts 9-10 and installed them. Had a new #WAW folder. Then deleted the -#WAW folder. I don't get any game crashes, and I believe I have everything for CUP, but now I'm not sure after reading this.

I didn't D/L the broken part 9 in the first place so all was good there :)

Very interesting!!  I'll have to test that and see how it turns out.  When you made the back up copy did you leave it in the IL2 directory?  But Hey!!  IF IT AIN'T BROKE, DON'T FIX IT :))) <<====  See Post 1526 of this thread
