The downswing apparently went fine despite the missing elevator authority, but that was just "lucky me" - up to that point:

The next Clown to rush in from 2nd flight was 1./JG42_Printe.

Starting with a successful bomb attack against the ships:


...Printe decided to use his rockets to hold down enemy AAA defence...


...which proved quite successful:


In contrast, the decision to continue with strafing runs against enemy AAA guns using Printe's 50 cals didn't prove to be that much of a success:




Nevertheless, a real clown is nowhere near to even think about going home with just one knife in his back.
Take this you jap gunners:

But in the end, a 3x25mm anti aircraft gun is a handful, even for a Hellcat:


Sure, you can skid away from it, but then there comes the moment when you look out of your cockpit and figure that this day won't become your friend anymore:

Let's look back at what we got.
Two flights attacked the bay, 8 planes (+1 "lone wolf" flyer) - 2 ships sunk, 2 AAA stations destroyed.
And this is the only survivor: SAS~Skylla
