Stuinning Repaint!
We would like to use the map in our DCG war, but therefore we would need the streets painted on the map to locate the routes.
Is it possible to add the streets to the overview map?

Hi, vpmedia,
here is my former attempt to make roads on ed_m03.tga map:

https://www.mediafire.com/download/ch9n0hd8i0k8nwe/Stgrad_RRR_roads.7z

The problem is, that by enlarging this file, the roads become blurry, similarly as in your picture. The author and me, we would like to find a way how to make ed_m02 and ed_m01 maps without excessive effort (by drawing the roads by hand ), at the same time to maintain the sharp road appearance and not excessively broad.
If anybody has a suggestion it would be greatly appreciated.

If you simply enlarge pixels they become blurry, cant be avoided.

You need a program which can vectorize a picture then you can freely enlarge it, the result will be sharp.
Adobe Flash can do something like this or theres a special function called Trace in Corel Draw, not sure about Adobe Illustrator, maybe. I didnt try this method yet with il2 map because I got none of the mentioned software currently installed, but it should work.

@vpmedia:
Thanks for the new map with the highways, roads and railways.
Much easier now to create missions with vehicles and trains.  :)

@vpmedia:
Many thanks,  the  way you showed is perhaps the best one.I am going to try it.

There is another problematic point with rails on ed_m0X maps: usually the railways are drawn on professional maps as almost checkered line - with white and black rectangles inside parallel black lines.
Perhaps there is a simple way also in GIMP or Photoshop to do it ?
I know that there is the possibility in converting the Beziers curve into a broken line, but it is not too straightforward.

I hope cyberolas would not mind this hijacking of his thread,  perhaps it would be nice of admin to move these posts  elsewhere ?
