Hello,
I am facing with the old problem in using this "must to have map" i.e. I am not able to save missions, I made a check with "universal static.ini checker" and it reports no missing objects , just reports a list of "Empty References" and "Doubled used sim" items, (too long lists to be posted) could this lead the problem? As I have not idea how to correct these. I am running also the Estonia "map" from uzin (that has the same installation instructions) and it runs without problem. Any idea??
thanks to anyone willing/able to help
Even if you did not wrote the version of Il 2 you are using, i shall try to help.

1. rename your folders 3do and _Tex by giving "minus" sign in front of them. The same way backup your static.ini file.
2. paste 3do and _Tex folders and static.ini file from the Poland_1939 package instead of those in point 1.

Now the missions must be saveable and run.  This way you will find if you did any mistake in your former install.

Many thanks for your reply and help,
I always forget something...my game version is 4.12.2 + mod 5.3
I follow you indications and all works fine, what you sugest to do now?
very best reards

I do not know nothing better than to add, one by one, the objects from Poland 1939 package to your former 3do and static.ini . After renaming them back, of course. And to test the mission saving after each addition.
See , I do not see your HD.
I know it is a pain, but it seems to be sure way to repair.
Perhaps there are more straightforward ones, but ...

Well, you are rigth...anyway, after some tries I can say that the problem is in merging your static.ini with the one I am using,
if I use your no problem with Poland map,
If use my static.ini merged with your I am not able to save missions in Poland map
if I use only my static.ini I am unable to save missios as well
Why? I don't know this is far beyond my "range" unfortunately.....
The only solution I see...should be to use two static.ini of wich one just for the Poland map...not very practical I think
anyway many thanks for you help..

If use my static.ini merged with your I am not able to save missions in Poland map
You must use also 3do folders merged, let overwrite.
Try this (after backuping your original 3do folder ).
Then it must run flawlessly even if it has duplicities inside merged static.ini . This has been proven, believe me.
N.B.
By "merging" I understand  copying the content of add2staticini.txt at the end of yours static.ini, before "eof" of course.

The entries may be in the static.ini but that doesn't mean you actually have the objects in your 3do. Try re-installing the actual objects i.e the 3do folder in the map download. (Back up 3do first). You may have made some mistake when you did it first time. This really has to be where the error lies because the problem is a simple one that I have encountered several times and the solution is always either missing static.ini entries or missing objects in 3do.
Thank you for your reply, before trying Poland Map I had not 3do folder at all so I put the one in Poland download in:
d:\giochi\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\#SAS\STD\3do\
hoping tis is the correct place, as told to Uzin I will make some more tests and let it know..
thanks

Ok still no solution, just to be sure I install the maps components in this way:

3do folder in:
d:\giochi\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\#SAS\STD\

i18n Folder in :
d:\giochi\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\#SAS\STD\i18n\

Maps folder in:
d:\giochi\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\#SAS\MAPMODS\

than I merged your static.ini file in my own (adding lines before the EOF)
and overwriting if required, to note that I have not other 3do folder before the installation of Poland Map , am I missing something?

I confirm I am not able to save missions, but as told if I use your static.ini "alone" everything works fine......
thanks

It seems you installed everything OK,
but I did not met before the  troubles you are describing .
I am sorry.
Perhaps anybody else could help ?
N./B.
Can you post me your "merged" static.ini  ?
I am afraid that "merging " might not be the same as copy-paste.

This map is very much needed. Uzin - many thanks!
But ... On the map is a little village, churches / synagogues, and above all airports. Too many mountains and water - Poland outside the South is the country flat. Regards.

Skyrover:

First, make sure to read this thread, replies 10 and 53:
https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,35419.0.html

Also this for starters:
https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,37295.0.html

Then ,also read here: We need a logfile excerpt or ingame error log screen, see here:
https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php?topic=41447.48

For the config.ini, simply cut out the part Render Open Gl and post it in quote brackets here.

Aka post it in code, for error logs the same, code is the # symbol above the smileys.

And if this map needs NEW objects not within Boomer's pack and 4.12.2, simply add those according to the instructions on top, but first make sure to have all objects installed correctly and a working install, then back up the STD folder, at least all textual files.

ALways try to give a form of error log (see Mods section, logfile thread) and the game version.
Thanks   :)  ;)

Cheers

Tom

Am I to add villages? Which and where ?
Am I to add churches ? Where? How much ?
Am I to add synagogues ? where? how much ?
There is 40 airfields. Do you think it is not enough ?
When flying to the edge of each Il2 map the terrain becomes seemingly flat. It is feature of Il2 engine, you know.
