weapons to FIAT RS-14
« on: September 05, 2024, 06:34:39 AM »

Hallo! In 2020, Master ZFlyer48(https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,64211.0.html) started a project for the FIAT RS-14 (Italian Floatplane). With the discovery that the aircraft was already available in SAS(https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,61108.msg673108.html#msg673108) the project was closed.
However, I would like to request that the version available in BAT be armed with bombs and anti-submarine weapons.
According to Wikipedia, the armament consisted of:
Armament
1 × 12.7 mm (0.5 in) machine gun
2 × 7.7 mm (0.303 in) machine guns
up to 400 kg (882 lb) of bombs

with the caveat also from Wikipedia: 'In the bombing role the RS.14 was fitted with a long ventral gondola to carry various
combinations of anti-submarine bombs (up to 400 kg (880 lb)).'
Of course, it doesn't hurt to request, without abusing, but aware of the capacity and skill of our masters, that there was also a prototype of the same version, only a Landplane. Follow Wikipedia: 'A prototype landplane version AS.14 was built and first flown on
11 August 1943. It was designed as a ground-attack aircraft and intended to be armed with a 37 mm (1.5 in) cannon and 12.7 mm (0.50 in) machine guns. It was not ordered and no others were built.

Big hug to everyone. :)
