ReShade and Direct X ?
« on: May 20, 2024, 10:18:35 AM »

I've been using ReShade for a long time, but after all the problems with AMD drivers, i decided to test whether ReShade also works with Direct X. I didn't succeed. Have any of you tried installing ReShade on Direct X? Is that even possible?

The latest version of the Reshade app has a single installation system, it asks if the game uses OpneGL or DirectX and installs the appropriate dll with the other files, without the user having to make any changes.

Un saludo.

Extract the contents of the following archive to your game folder (if you're asked to overwrite any files, make backups of the originals):

https://www.mediafire.com/file/e6p26fgw9ujoke3/ReShade_DirectX.zip/file

This is my current setup for ReShade V6.1.1 in DirectX mode.  You can modify the shader settings as you like or rotate through those I've used (I'm sure some of these are courtesy of erafitti - thank you!).

The DxWrapper (courtesy of EiishaCloud) is needed for d3d9.dll compatibility in Windows 11, at least on my system.  Otherwise you may be able to use the d3d8 to d3d9.dll converter from the ReShade web site.

Your DirectX configuration works correctly. Il2 is specially optimized to be used with OpenGL but with DirectX you can also achieve really good results.

See later images (4.15 default).

Thanks for the confirmation erafitti  :)

FYI the shaders I'm currently using include SMAA since I don't have the luxury of a graphics card control panel.  Those of you who already have AA settings defined via your (NVidia) Control Panel can remove that ReShade option.

P.S. Love those screenshots!

Thanks guys! It works! The installation went through, everything works perfectly.

But I had a problem: after playing for a couple of hours, turning off the PC, coming back later and starting the game again, it froze at 30% when loading. I tried again a couple of times and always the same result, it freezes at 30% and still doesn't work.
Any idea what is causing this? Thanks in advance!
Edit: I deleted d3d8.dll and d3d9.dll and put them back from recycle bin and it works! :)
