Il2 1946 Install and Config - Some questions

Hi all,

I am not exactly a newbie with installing and setting up IL2 1946, but having picked up a very old laptop I find myself in need of some guidance.

My Laptop is a Dell Latitude E6540 (2013 timeframe):
  • CPU-i7-4610M 3.00GHZ
  • RAM - 8GB
  • 256 GB SSD Drive
  • Windows 10 Pro
  • Graphics - both integrated HD Graphics 4600 and discrete 2GB AMD Radeon HD 8790M

1st - I can't get perfect landscape settings. I searched and read the excellent posts on this site but still no luck. Do you think my AMD HD 8790M is not powerful enough?
2nd - I am running version 4.12.2 ( I download the game from GOG.Com (version 4.10 and then patched to 4.12.2) - Do you think it matters that I am not using the original Ubisoft version of the game? - and can't get perfect settings because of that?
3rd - separate question - when I try to run Il2 1946 in Direct X mode with reshade I can't get reshade to work in direct x, despite selecting it on the Reshade install screen below. Any ideas?

It is most likely a matter of amd drivers
You need to search and find the better suited for you on the net as unfortunately amd don't keep the full historical series but just a few legacy drivers

Just wanted to circle back and say thanks.

I was able to get the game running on the laptop with BAT Red Core.

I still may have to fiddle a bit with drivers since I have some screen flickering/tearing on the game setup menus, but otherwise things run pretty smooth. Amazing to me how nice and tidy that BAT Red Core package is made :)
