Peddling as fast as I can
« on: April 11, 2024, 10:12:30 AM »

Hi guys

BAT 4.2.2

I have a mission on the North African map where I am flying a B26 bomber.  When I fly the mission on my own I have no problem, but when I fly with the squad I taxi out to the start of the runway, take the active, chocks in and rev up the engines.

I've taken careful note of my manifold pressure and rpm of both engines and made sure that they are synced.  Prop pitch 100%, Rads open and flaps up. I often, depending on the aircraft , apply the take off flaps half way down the runway.

Then...full throttle, chocks away and we're off.

But time and time again I fail to get any more than 75mph out of the plane and as a consequence don't get off the ground.

What's the issue here?

If you switch from AI to manual control the AI when is stopped before take off IIRC have enabled brakes...you have to disengage them before take off....in my rig for example I left the default button and I have unlocked brakes by pressing B....

Yes I know what you mean. I've had the "sticky" breaks syndrome before.  So I usually pump the break pedal bit to un jam them.

However that had no effect in this case.

When you say "fly with the squad", do you mean the multiplayer?
If you do, I wonder if this is one of the feature bugs that appear from time to time when one tries BAT in the multiplayer...

Hi Dimlee,
Sorry for the late reply. This site doesn't seem to be sending me notifications of when I receive an answer as it usually does.

Anyway...Yes we always fly in multiplayer.  And I had the same issue the other evening flying a Me 262.  I took off fine flying the mission on my own but as soon as I joined the mission with the other squad members the issue raised it's head again.

Hi Trasher !
Do you play your mission on Hyperlobby ?
In this case I could join your mission and watch what happens .

Sorry no we don't

I host the missions and everybody logs into my IP

I'm starting to think that it's a MULTIPLAYER glitch as it never happens when I play by myself.

And it certainly doesn't happen all the time.

Is it time to consider UP? It's better suited for multiplayer and covers most of the BAT timeline.
