New mouse 6DOF with headshake effect (Now both versions)
« on: July 14, 2010, 08:44:19 AM »

-New mouse 6DOF with headshake effect (Updated Jul 17th, now XY and NormalMouse versions)- V1.2
(Auto and Manual view Reset)

I have started to try to master the landing on carrriers, and as many of you should have realised, the fact of having the nose of your plane before you is a huge problem, not allways solved by the up seat function if it is present (not all the planes include that).

All previous MODs for the Six Degrees of Freedom (6DOF), solved this, but supressed the head shacking effect of the stock game. It was due to a mistake in how the pilot head position was calculated. I have taken the 4.09m original class and included the 6DOF function controlled by the mouse.

The limits of movement were adjusted to fit basically any plane cockpit and the settings used are these:

CONTROLS
~~~~~~~~
XYMouse version:
• Roll TrackIR axis enabled.
• Mouse move emulates X,Y TrackIR axis.
• Hold Left button and drag controls normal look around.
• Hold Right button and drag over the Y mouse axis emulates Z TrackIR axis.
Middle mouse button resets the view.
NormalMouse version:
• Roll TrackIR axis enabled.
• Mouse move controls normal look around.
• Hold Left button and drag emulates X,Y TrackIR axis.
• Hold Right button and drag over the Y mouse axis emulates Z TrackIR axis.
Middle mouse button resets the view.
V1.2:  makes the XY position shift permanent until view reset (if you go out of the cockpit the view is still shifted when you come back).
Download 6DOF Mouse with headshake effect (updated with two versions), from here
This last sub-version is to attend some requirements of users who prefer that after coming back to the cockpit, the view shift would automatically dissapear:
Download 6DOF Mouse with headshake effect (updated with two versions and Auto Reset View on re-enter cockpit), from here
Please read ReadMe.rtf file for full details.
Installation: Copy only one of the two folders included in the .rar to the MODS directory.
I've wanted this feature since 6-dof was released. Thanks once again for another awesome addition to the game, Pablo ;)
Hi Benitomuso
I worked it out! This is how I got it to work with UltraPack 2.1
I copied the folder containing the 6DoFmod into my jgsme mods folder and renamed it with the prefix 00_ => 00_6DOFXYMouseNormal
Inside each jgsme mod folder there is a sub folder called "Files". I made a "Files" folder inside the 00_6DOFXYMouseNormal folder and then copied the mod files into it.
Bingo it works!!!
This mod is super great and I'm really loving flying with it!
Thanks
A slight bump to this topic with a question.
I'm using FaceTrackNoIR (really? yes!, see my sig! ;) ) with the UP2.0 512MB_6DOF.exe file.
I assume that this exe file uses the original (2_0_sHr) tracker version.
I seem to read that this is the mouse only version for the tracker.
Does the original Shr non-mouse tracker supress the headshake effect ?
Edit: edited slightly..
Hi Eexhaton. I really don't know.
Do you have the sHr non-mouse version files? Send them to me and I will tell you.
It should be this one, found here:
https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,35.0.html
https://storebror.it.cx/sas/archive/sas/othermods/6dof_for_Tracker.zip
As indicated in that topic,under the Tracker download, this very same should be the one used/supplied with UP2.0 - and works with the modified .exe files aswell.
So, I guess this is the one.
Benitomuso, your fix is great, but there is an even greater 6dof mod, at least for me - it's the quasi-6DOF mod (http://allaircraftsimulations.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=26444&start=0), in which the head moves are "automatic", so you don't need to press the mouse buttons. The problem is - it disables the headshake, like original 6DOF. I would not dare to ask you to to repair it, but I would like to ask how can I edit those 1234ABCD1234 weird names files? If nobody will fix it, I wish to try myself - maybe if I compare all those mod files I could do this, but as a newbie in IL-2 I don't know how to open those files.
