PLEASE HELP! Bomber formations broken!

This has bugging me out for too long now! I'm on 4.13 and everytime I set targets for bombers (flight 2, 3, 4 target first flight) then attack any of the other flights, the other bombers in that flight fly out of formation and swerve everywhere! Does anybody have a solution, fix or mod that can keep every bomber together without anyone doing crazy maneuvers?  :(

I use NOW 4.13.4 the greatest part of time and never saw this issue.

But your picture is very odd.

What is set to what?

Where is the way of bombers formations?
I see ONLY eight formations with ONE way point for each one!
It"s perfectly normal that each flight fly anywhere.
Did you read a FMB tutorial?
Or a video?
You have to give several waypoints to fix a WAY, a direction.

Here is a mission I built for my "Battle of Britain" videos.
Ypack 4.13.4
No issue with AI bombers.

Sergent Pepper, your screenshot shows you have set individual waypoints for each flight.
Whereas Fox has attached each flight (escort or target feature) to the first, a legitimate way of setup.
A drawback of this method is every flight flies in the same formation as the first eg. finger four and also targets whatever the first flight targets.
I don't have 4.13 but sometimes bombers act like fighters, I suggest trying Sergent Pepper's method and seeing if their behaviour changes.

Yes...When the leader plane gets a way, defined with at least 2 waypoints! :)
When not, it's mess.
I never see bombers acting like fighters.

I haven't tried bombers for a while, a few versions back of BAT...

I have had bombers act like fighters in evading attacks, I think I used the PB4Y-2 in BAT, and it would do it when I switch the auto pilot on and jump to a gunner seat. 

I also have had blimps in WW1 BAT do nose dives when attacked.

I think I posted on here about it some time ago. 

There has got to be some way the AI behavior is defined by its role, but not sure how these MODs are made with bombers diving and doing something like split S menuvers.

There is something wrong with the physics in IL2, like if you have wind, there is no friction on the ground and the plane acts like its made of basal wood and on ice.

That Bombers do weird defensive tricks came with the super better 4.12m TD AI update.
Has nothing to do with class defined Fighters, Bombers, Sturmovik as per Class definition.
It's a new occuring random Trigger on any AI Aircraft also set on Bombers.
Attack them head on, somewhere there is a trigger.
When coming from behind this is not so often.

If you watch this on a Me Gigant, you know that 4.12AI is at some stages, funny.

All the world was blabbering about B'N'Z, now you got it, crap 4.10m AI gone, that was the worst we ever had.
Now a B-17 can fliproll, nice.

I saw this happening in B.A.T., CUP, TFM412, even in UP3.4 Cassie, any 4.12 based Mod Game Pack suffers from this.

Previously to 4.12m I've never seen stuff like that before.
Sometimes it get's messed up with older defects in AI code.
What is still an old Bug, from ancient times, that Wingmen 3,4, in rare cases 2, do such stuff flip rolling 1000m up and down as there's a bug in the rejoin,
stay in Formation code. 2008-2009 we discussed that and how to prevent, with KiwiBiggles over at Mission4Today.
There's a fine Tutorial about the AI Commands over there.
Happens not just in Player's Army, but it can be at enemy side AI too. Player side is controllable.

Further refinement of AI came in 14.3 improving bomber behavior but we should never forget that IL-2 is a game that plays in a 2-3,000 USD PC at best and not a real flight simulator that costs at least 100 time more for some reason.

Regarding your last bit about the wind causing difficulties in plane behaviour on the ground.

About 3 years ago or so I tweaked Wind.class so as to ameliorate this. I increased the depth of the layer near the ground, within which wind speed decreases, from 10m to 30m. Moreover, instead of merely halving wind speed at ground level compared to the speed at the top of the former 10m zone, I decreased it to zero. This nicely obviates any nasty weathercocking and such, permitting taxying without pulling out one's hair.  ;)

This has been incorporated into B.A.T., I'm reasonably sure? (I still use my own modded class anyway, and so am not completely certain if all my code was taken as is.)

So.. I have tried to do individual waypoints but to no luck. The back formations can't keep up with the main formation, no matter what I do, any tips?

Wait a second...! I had found out this is buggy (well, for me) only for the flyable base game B-24 Liberator D-CO. AI Bombers seem to be normal. This may just be a game bug

Could the changes to the 14.3 AI be used also in 14.2?
