Avia B.534 – Zürich 1937

Avia B.534 was standard Czechoslovak fighter biplane from the period before the WWII. Swiss International Air Meetings in Zurich-Dübendorf were probably the most demanding competitions of interwar Europe. In 1937, the Czechoslovaks participated with four Avia B.534s and eight Avia Ba.122s. They started in seven different categories and took 3 first, 3 second and 4 third places. They placed second behind Germany in the overall ranking. It was the greatest success of the pilots of free and independent Czechoslovakia in the pre-war period.
