Large Dogfight Concept
« on: August 21, 2021, 12:56:25 PM »

This is a concept that I experimented with in FMB to create a large dogfight with over 100 planes.
This is set on the Moscow map and involves German Jets vs Yaks.

A similar concept could be used with other maps/aircraft however, e.g. larger bomber formations.

What do people think of this idea?
Also, is there a way to copy the existiing aircraft waypoints e.t.c. onto a different map?

The playability depends on the individual computer set up. For less powerful units there can be a lot of stutter and loss of fps, especially when there are many explosions and a lot of flak, clouds, and parachutists (bailing airmen).

Have you considered using UberDemons magnificent tool for creating missions with large numbers of aircraft, ground objects, ships etc. You are able to use it for dogfight or co-op missions, not all of the current maps in BAT are available as yet, but there are lots to choose from. Check out UberDemon.net for more info. I often build missions with it and then fine tune them with the FMB.

I will look it up. To be honest, I had not heard of Uber demon.

I did consider that when creating the concept. My aim was to create a pure dogfight, so no flak added.
+ Parachutists can be turned off along side clouds.
