Self-made flaps switch and Joytokey software
« on: December 23, 2017, 01:35:34 AM »

Hi guys, I am building a flaps control switch using a electric guitar Oak switch.... I am using joytokey to map the switch and I managed to set it as if I press F and V to raise and lower the flaps.
I tested this config with notepad also and when I move the lever the letter F and V show correctly on notepad.

Yet when I try on the game, for some reason the third position (T/O) is skipped, as the sim does not take the second V (flaps down mode)  and the T/O position goes in the landing position.

A friend of mine says it could be a bug in joytokey.

Have any of you ever had the same problems?

Many thanks for your help! Ciao!

Hey Markino!

Not an exact answer but I use xpadder for all my analog switch hardware to il2 conversions. It's not free but it works and has loads of programming options like delays, toggling etc

Good luck!

Hi marcost, thenks for reply! I will do some other test with Joytokey and if they failure, I'll take xpadder....

Do you have a similar switch for flaps control? I use a switch like this wired to Leo Bodnar BU0836X card: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Oak-Grigsby-5-way-Switch-for-Fender-Stratocaster-Strat/222302326245?epid=3003303860&hash=item33c2404de5:g:w~0AAOSwBvNTne8k

Merry Christmas! Ciao!

Very interesting marcost! Could you give me more informations about flaps with variable axis, please? What did you use to build it? Is possible to have some pictures?

Many thanks! Ciao!

Hi guys finally me and a my friend we was able to manage joytokey to mapping the switch for flaps.

In the first attempt I wrong the contacts of the side 2 (L2). Then, with my friend, I corrected the contacts sequence (see the images below).

Now the flaps switch works fine! :good:

I post the correct images, the correct thruth table and the joytokey's .cfg I use now for the flaps. There are the buttons for landing gear also (buttons #18 and #19).
