early mark please :)

Like this one?

I don't know what the "Cockpit -> he100 / he112" remark should tell me.
If there's something left to be change, please specify.

Best regards - Mike
I'll import new cockpits for them.but he100 / he112 use a same cockpit(He-1xx) now.

Perhaps it's this aircraft being a bit of a disappointment that prompted the Romanians to use it mainly as a strafer, attacking ground targets? Which seems pretty crazy if it actually had been a top notch interceptor performance-wise.

The Romanians were disappointed with the He-112B as a fighter. It was under-powered, but they sure appreciated the wing-mounted MG-FF cannons for ground attack. Some survived until at least the second half of 1944, but only as trainers for Bf-109Gs. I suggest the "He-112 in action" book. It's actually very thorough. But, it leaves out Yugoslavian interest in the aircraft.
Assuming you don't already have it.

The Hungarian story is even more interesting. They seemed totally confused. First sought a license for the He-112B, then for the He-112U, which was a propaganda name for the He-100/113 (shame on Nazi propaganda). They only ever received 3 He-112B's. Then attempted to copy the He-112B, using a radial engine and wooden construction. It flew well, but the sole prototype perished in a crash. It was the W.M. 23 Ezust Nyil (missing accent marks on the "u" and "i").

Sorry for being a blabber mouth. I'm just enthralled with the story of the He-112.

P.S. Great He-100 screen shot! Both aircraft are beautifully modeled!

Ah I see.
Great idea, since currently we don't have any really suitable stand-in cockpit available for those Heinkel fighters.

As per the 112's performance, as much as I understand from the several books I've read, the plane itself was fine and it was a good match for the Jumo 210 powered 109s (A, B, C, D).
Most frontline pilots who got the opportunity to fly both, liked the 112 better than the 109.
Nevertheless the early 112s had a flat spin flaw and all in all the 109 was much easier to manufacture and had bigger development potential.
Those who claim that the 112 would have been the better choice or at least should have been followed up upon are wrong IMHO, since the fact that the 112 was a match for the early 109s didn't negate the fact that the DB601 powered 109 E and their follow-ups were clearly superior to anything that could have been done to the 112.
Actually the existence of the He-100 gives prove to that fact, and it's debatable whether the He-100 would have made a difference if it was entered into mass production, but it's safe to say that Heinkel eliminated all significant flaws of the 112 design when they built the 100, and the result was a very promising aircraft.

The He-112 V10 with DB-601Aa engine reached 354 mph. But, I agree that the He-112B was more complex to manufacture than the 109. Little to no performance gain. Plus, as we all know, the Germans expected a quick war anyway, thus concentrating on one fighter, the 109. But, I disagree that the He-112B had limited development potential. But, this is sort of a moot point. History went the way of the 109.

this is sort of a moot point. History went the way of the 109.
Absolutely right.
Heinkel was in the wrong place at the wrong time with both his 112 and the 100, and since 'what's better' is the enemy of 'what's good', he lost the contract to Messerschmitt.
From a planning point of view this absolutely makes sense.
Heinkel was busy producing bombers for the Luftwaffe.
Producing (one of) the standard fighter(s) too would have left Messerschmitt with nothing but a prospect of license production shares, and it could easily have overstressed the Heinkel design team's capabilities.
But that's a moot point again... talking alternative history hehe 8)

Storebror,

I absolutely agree. The RLM was very strict with contracts and engine allocations. That's why only the He-112 V10 received a DB-601. All was well planned for a brief Blitzkrieg, with certain manufacturers allocated certain engines and aircraft types. Why build a marginally better fighter when you have one that outclasses almost all and is simple to build? But, of course, that never materialized into victory. The war lasted far longer than anticipated. Still, the He-113 (100) and He-112B are beautiful aircraft, and modeled so well. I'm so happy that they will be in-game :)

Hi there!

Thought I'd add a little help for fine-tuning the He-100.

Initially it wasn't even called the D-variant, that only came after some years.

I notice the fast retraction of the undercarriage - regarding a point that came up during testing.
