Hello Guys !
Since long time ago, I was willing to do a big birds campaign ! The idea comes and goes for years but with the arrival of kwm_spit973's map (La chute) and TD 'd B-24D, it has become an emergency to build something !
So here will you find 3 demo missions, depicting the first missions of the 8AF over France in the winter 42. As I wanted to stay on the low side in number of planes and missions time, I have used Cannon's map and a limited number of bombers (12)...The most important thing was to find a process which could enable me to deal efficiently with taxiing, formation building and escort...The whole process is applicable to others maps, planes and theater of operations !
To be precise, the details :
- All 12 bombers will take-off from Bassingbourn, everyone will taxi, details at briefing. I was able to go on over 15 aircrafts per airport, dealing with 3 airports. My laptop didn't like it at all but was able to deal with it !
.
- 91st BG for B-17, 93rd BG for B-24, let's say that it is a mixed squadrons operation.
- B-17F / B-24D / B-24D-140-CO (Don't forget to enable it in JGSME)
- Thanks to Axis and Allies paintwork and their talented skiners, (Thanks Jarik !) every bombers has got a magnific skin
- To limit the loss of FPS, you will be intercepted over sea. I limit the enemy force to 10 fighters which will arrive in different time and place. More stressful and more FPS !
As I'm no bomber guy, I will deeply appreciate your positive remarks on this missions...Test them and tell me what's wrong, what's right, what's could be better ! If someone has got a validation script working fine, tell me if there is some missing objects (Even with all my goodwill, I couldn't get python working
). The first ones are always the most important and I planned a 8-missions campaign for each type of aircraft and maybe, after that, another campaign pack with lighter bombers and maybe fighter-bombers...But that will be for the future !
