Running
« on: February 10, 2013, 08:19:48 AM »

I apologise profusely if this is not the place, but I was wondering if the kind soups here would mind telling me if the following specs could run CloD:

Alienware m14x

Processor:
3rd generation Intel i73630 QM 6mb cache up to 3.4 GHz with turbo boost 2.0

Card:
2 gb gddr5 nvidia GeForce gt 650m

As my old machine has bad, 'problems'- I was wondering if this would cut it?

Thanks....

The game has been festering within steam done its release how many years ago? The problem was my old and rather decayed machine couldn't run it. When this thing arrives next week I shall test it after such a long wait!

Well not only did it work but it works in high/very high settings at a straight 40 fps! Not bad for a laptop  ;D

Might I ask which online servers you think are the best? And I would like to do a multi-crew bomber style thing too... But yes, it's certainly good.

You're glad I didn't get here sooner. I would have told you that the GT 650M would not have ran it very well. My reasoning would be that I have a GT 630M in my laptop and I know for a fact it would not run CloD, and also the lack of an "X" after the "GT" would have led me to believe the same thing. There is a huge difference between the GT 600 series and the GTX 600 series, even if they're both mobile versions.

Well it only arrived today and I installed CloD first, expecting awfulness. But the sound, video and frame rate are all genuinely superb! I have had no trouble with any games so far using the gt 650m, running most games in 1600x900 at high or very high with good fps.

I fly online as well but without voice comms.  My experience is that I can rarely find a dogfight anywhere, and when I do I get killed with only a single pass.  I have also found bombers on occasion and have emptied my entire ammo load into one with little effect.

What am I missing?  I thing the environment is very immersive, but the gameplay is frustrating as hell.

Would like to hear your thoughts....
