Mods Folder Question

Hi Ive got a really wierd problem, wierd for me as ive created many Mod folders (one each time we had an update to the game) so with my game now running at IL-2 HSFX 6.0.17 (4.11.1) with JSGME and HSFX client installer, I wanted to install the DO-335 Nightfighter.  But and here is the problem I havn't got a mods folder, I tried using the Pre-manufactured one in the "How to add Mods to HSFX 6.1" Thread only for the feared CTD at 60% to happen, so went back to basics and created my own (create the folder, copy STD from file, add latest buttons and amend config)  Even this led to CTD....Im totally confused...Can the mod folder be created and Put into the JSGME? or can a MODS folder simply be created within the game itself...Please Help
