HG_retextured LS_MarcusIsland_v1.1Final
« on: January 20, 2012, 02:03:42 PM »

Retextured Lonestar67's Marcus Islands version 1.1 Final using Whc and ag textures.

UP3/DBW compatible only, cause the textures storing order is the same of UP3.0

Install as usual putting LS_Marcus folder into #DBW# (or #UP#)/MapMods/Maps/... folder.

Thanks to the authors of the textures (Whc and agracier)...
and many thanks to Lonestar67 which made this map!

Regards

Hi,
Looks really nice! Unfortunately, I'm still not have DBW (but soon)!
Thanks for your work! :)

Sorry HG, but I don't like the look of this one bit.   :( If you look at Google Earth, and especially the photos asociated with Marcus Island, it is lightish green with blindingly white coral sands - not some dingy grey. I much prefer LoneStar's original textures.
Retexturing the often damn awful stock maps can produce wonders, but completely altering the efforts of mapmakers who have usually spent months researching and making these maps is a bit insulting to my mind.

No probs 242Sqn_Cat!

Provided that I've made it for my personal use and I like to share with the community....don't use it if you don't like it (as per ancient modding law)!

Absolutely no intention to insult the authors efforts accordingly.

Best Regards!

Good point HG :), although I look at it that as long as it improves a map then I'm all for it, as GilB has done to WestFront and from what I've seen you have to Burma. But for say, Darwin and Marcus the the originals were just fine and more realistic as released. Realising that everything is completely subjective of course. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder  ;).
