R-5 in Spanish Colors
« on: November 10, 2011, 02:00:22 AM »

Here are a few skins for the R-5. They are skins for several types of Spanish schemes of various similar looking aircraft used by the pre Civil War air force as well as by Republican as Nationalist air forces. The pre war schemes were often from aircraft stationed in Spanish Africa, Morocco mainly or in Ifni. I've included a few profiles to show where the schemes come from.

The R-5 is a great stand-in for many post Great War biplanes that were built in the 1920's and 30's. I've also found that if you set up the R-5 with default weapons only, it really puts up a good fight and maneuvers all over the place, giving you a good fight back. Load the R-5 up with bombs however and it becomes a somewhat placid aircraft with little imaginative maneuvering when attacked.

I'll see about some more of these colorful skins ...

Here is a link with further skins for the R-5 in pre-SCW schemes. You'll have to do without screenshots on these, but it you liked the above, these are all in the same style. Taken from historical aircraft, with a few variations included.
