Hello
It took me roughly 3 Days or lets say 15hours to fully understand the mod universe of IL2. I started with Ultrapack 2.0, updated it to 3.0. Found HSFX 5.0 and somehow found out about this wonderfull SAS community. At the moment i use your newest MODACT 3.06, patched to 4.10.1. I dont like general big packs, cause iam the type of guy like activating every single piece of the sim myself and want to understand how it works. I run the game on a PC with INTEL i7 960 @ 3.2 GHz, Quad Core. 10 Gigs Ram and a ATI RADEON 5870 Card w/ 1 Gig Ram.
First a VERY BIG THANK YOU for all this superbe mods. The game looks just incredible and runs super smooth. You guys are artists. Its fantastic. I even enjoy the 5-10 mins transfer time to the mission until the action starts. Holy Sh1t, i look at the water effects, the waves, the glittering and the planes and the reflections. It feels like holliday. (Iam a big fan of the Pacific Missions, and somehow like to go against the USA :-). Even a rainy mission does not affect my mood. After shooting at a plane i sometimes pause the game and check out the bullet holes and the damage impact. Not because i like killing stuff or people, just to get impressed by the detailed impact of the bullets. And i can fly in a bulk of 50 Bombers. This is perfection.
And this brings me to my question. I would like to have an oppinion on which mods are considered as essential if you do not wory about CPU Power and frame rate. I would say i am most interested in Graphics/Effects and maybe Maps. Or lets say, i am wondering what other people think is the best set of mods in SAS MODACT 3.06. I think i read this complete forum and found some lists, but i wonder if i maybe missed something, because some mods are like xmas gifs which fantasic content.
My set at the moment:
Ecran_Wide
SSE2, 3 and 4 Light
Planeshine
Gore for all planes
Fagging Big Def Skin Mod
AdvanceDamageFX4
In the Conf.ini File i get the best results with water=2.
So thanks for any replies/lists, or maybe some adaitional ideas/tricks to even increase any detailed graphic perfomance.
