:) This mod to be activated must have priority over all the others, otherwise other mods take over, so it must be placed at the top of the Mods list by prefixing the folder name for example with the symbols " !!! _ ", However remember that the Italian pilots and Frenchmen will appear only if you assign the Italian or French nationality to the plane, for other nationalities only Oleg's puppet pilots will appear ... ;)

Hey Gerhard, thanks! :) Yeah that is where I put the Italian pilots into #WAW3...
I also installed il2_core.dll and il2_corep4 in the root of Bat and made copies
of the originals...I did not (yet) use Barnesys head movement which is optional?
So, when I get Bat loaded up into quick mission, and select (for example) an
Mc-200, the select button will flash, but the plane will NOT load!? What? o_O
So, it looks like my system doesn't like these files, il2_core.dll and il2_corep4
or, the files are in the wrong place? Why this doesn't work is beyond me? :-[ :(
I have Italian pilots listed like this in #Waw3, ! PILOTS Italy

I just now tried to fly a mission in QUICK MISSION, I selected a Macchi MC200 Series 7, 1941 R.S.I (ANR 1943-45) This allowed me to view the
aircraft, however as soon as I selected R.A.-Regia Aeronautica, POOF!, the plane disappears!!

Just had EXACTLY the same result in Vp-modpack! Disappearing planes..So, it's not just Bat that is acting erratically..Sad to say...I hope it is not caused by my old computer!! :(
a 'Snippet' from my log-file.."WARNING: object '3DO/Plane/MC-200_VII(it)/eye.mat' of class 'TMaterial' not loaded", seems like I've seen this type of message in the past? o_O
I don't remember the solution however....

please try the following:
Main Game Folder\ BATDOCS\ BATDLLS-00_SAS-ModAct...
or copy BATDLLS-02_BAT-Alternative to desktop, unpack, put these files back into your main game folder.
You will then be asked whether the existing files should be replaced - then you click yes.
For these different DLL files, there is no one-size-fits-all law. You have to try...!
I copied the BATDLLS-00 into mine so that the 4K (49153kb) skins can be displayed.

Same dismal result. But, at least I have a clue the game is looking for and cannot find this...WARNING: object '3DO/Plane/MC-200_VII(it)/eye.mat' of class
'TMaterial' not loaded"
If I can track back in time and remember HOW to help correct the path to this "eye.mat' then I'm sure that at least that problem would be solved?! I hope!

So, I'm convinced that the missing 'eye.mat' file is the reason for the missing planes, not the .dlls..Barking up the wrong tree as it were. ]confused2[ If I could only track down
the history of the problem that I had a few years back (2019?) with another missing mat file..I'm sure that the situation would be 'gold!'

had the same crash (100%) like you.
I made a new mods folder "#WAW3".
In that folder I took only the required mods for #WAW3.
I chosed "Country Italy" - nothing showed up in the "aircraft window".
I chosed "Country Luftwaffe" and the MC-200 Serie7 showed up in game but without the new "Pilot Italy".
It semes we have to wait for repaired mods...!

Italian pilots? (eye.mat!?) Plus I saw a PINK Bf109!!?? Because of the eye mat error or the new .dlls? Sheesh? Not sure WHAT to make of this mod(s)

In BAT I now have BOTH French AND Italian pilots!!! I think a re-boot helped?, I don't know, but they are there!!!!! JA!!!
I can't get both to work in VP-modpack, but in Bat I DID!!!!! Shazamm!!, those pilots look GOOD!!!! :o 8)

I had a problem with these only showing in some aircraft, even stock stuff like the SM-79 would not load them. o_O
Looking in the folders later it looks like only some Italian aircraft are contained within so just check before a particular type is tested
that it has a folder within the mod, at least I think that is the reason for the no show. ;)

Ranwers, this Mod is awesome. I'm glad you shared.
Don't feel sorry, nor ashamed.
For us old Breeds, a glitch is no complainer, if you know how to fix.
Folks who can't fix stuff themselves, do like Sgt. Pepper and disable the folders for the moment.

Definitely Yes, Ranwers, whatever work you do, I had literally no trouble using these Mods.
I'm already working on 1-2 Fixes for Italy and RAF pilots plus additions for BAT.
Will post the Links as soon as I finished the Fixes.

Yes! we must continue,
even if for the moment they do not all work correctly, take as long as it takes to do them.
Your Pilots are really beautiful, with a lot of details, a lot of realism and adds a considerable improvement for our good old Il2,
(seeing blinking eyes, it's awesome 8))
it would be good in the future to have in addition the USAF, USN, RU, LUFTW., JAP, and other Pilots, in a maximum of aircraft,
or at least the most representative.
Congratulations again for all that you do, and for a long time,
All this deserves careful work and requires time, so don't be discouraged and don't be disappointed,
We must consider this wonderful work as a WIP for now.
Maybe other people could take over to help you and have a more general integration in BAT or in the form of a ModPack
Time doesn't matter, only the result counts, you have to know how to be patient.

;D Siiiii !! Full speed ahead ! These pilots are a breath of fresh air to our game! Even Oleg's old planes with your boys have acquired a charm that was long lost! You have no idea how much more enjoyable it is to fly without those awkward pilot simulacra! Thanks and with the help of all of us this mod will become a real game changer! Incidentally, 101tfs' Re2005 has always given problems, even without your pilot, so it probably doesn't depend on your job.

Definitely, no question about it! There may be some bugs to work out (by folks more tech savvy than myself) but this is a great improvement.

I for one will be a happy camper once Tobias has helped to get Ranwers' outstanding creation to work in BAT, especially the RAF pilots since I love chasing down Messerschmitts in my Spitfire XIV!

I've got a try...
With 4.12.2 (VP Mod Act) full success! :)
But this mod doesn't like open canopy mods for Macchi fighters.
It's not an issue, open canopy has no effect in cockpit view.
With 4.13.4 (SAS Mod Act 6.40 and Y.Pack 1.2.3) Re2005 remains inoperable : plane's folder has to be loaded first.

Small glitch in my Add-Ons to Ranwers Pilots, some Planes miss the blinking Eye feature.
Will shuffle out a fix this Weekend, stay on or off alert, how you wish.
It's an easy to solve issue.

... this morning I tried to put Ranwers pilots inside the SM79, and so far I am only half satisfied, as the dorsal gunner is looking forward, even when he is shooting backwards, and the lateral gunner is also looking forward even when he is firing from either side ... :-X
The pilot and copilot look OK, and maybe also the belly gunner ... ;)

In fact the Mask model seems to be OK, it is the value of the "Attaching" line that is wrong and needs being edited ... ;)
I'll check tomorrow (I use a 4.09 version of the game) and fix that bug ... ;)
So, until tomorrow, fly the SM79 under 3000 m, and the Mask bug won't be displayed ...! 8)

I installed it and confirmed that it was normal... ;)
Now I have MTO planes and 3D pilots, but I can't get one map from the MALTA mission to apply them. The old map name is this. ''mrz MALTA(high etc 4 ini)''
Of course, This is in BAT mod. But among the objects required for the MALTA mission, 'ShipArchie' is 70% CTD in BAT mod. in SAS mod...it's ok.
So I'm trying to run this mission on SAS mod, but now the link is dead for getting the map, so I can't get the map. All other objects have been set up.
If anyone has this map file, please share it.

Yes, it works well the mrz Malta Map on SAS mod 5.30.

For my part, I recommend placing Ranwers pilots separately (not integrated with the plane's mod). The 3d models of the pilots are very 'heavy' and it is not known yet how this will affect the game with more planes in the air. I am still afraid of that. When they are separate - it is easy to turn them off.

... you may get a weird colour for the SM-79 sticks, according to the skin you use ... :-X
To fix that, once and for all :
1) open the plane folder
2) scroll all the way down to : Stick.msh
3) open it (with Windows Notepad for ex)
4) replace the word Gloss1D0o just under [Materials], with the word : Stick
5) save & exit, and from now on, you will have grey sticks, same colour as the Beaufighter stick ... ;)

Well in fact the "w" (white) is only found in the Italian TEXTURES folder ... ;)
If you take a look inside the Italian TEXTURES folder you will see white textures that are exactly the same as the default brown leather ones, except that there are whote and not in leather ...
So you only need to open the pilot.mat files, check which texture they call in the TEXTURES folder, and replace their name with the texture of a different colour (if there is one) that exists in the TEXTURES folder ...
For example, if you want to have the SM-79 pilot + copilot with white helmets and flying suits like here :

This Cant-506 was released by ... DT, in 2016, with a very weird and never seen before bomber name, that doesn't respect IL2 convention for naming pilots/gunners/bombers, hence the bug ... :-X
By the way, could you please guys check if you can see the bomber crew member in your game ...?
Because this is what drove me nuts, I could see the bomber in Mesh Viewer, and also in the QMB window, but NOT in game ...!!! o_O

I think you have something in conflict, maybe Jeronimo's propeller mod that has his own hier.him, and that I already added his improvements to the SM-79. In my installation the two pilots come out and the gunners are further apart and look at the tail . Try disabling any mods you have on the plane or have mine load first.
Yes, I know that a gunner standing between the two machine guns is not very immersive, but Il2 1946 has its limitations, and we don't have animated pilots who go from one position to another... ;)

Once unzipped, rename it by deleting the words "New pilots" so that it bears exactly the same name as the Cant 506 already in your game ... ;)
This folder only contains the 3D, but not Epervier's new java class files + new FM that allow the bomber to be displayed, at least in our 4.09 versions ... ;)
It also contains a Textures folder, but if you put the Cant in Ranwers PILOTS Italy folder, you won't need the Textures folder as it is already in there ...
Bugs remain, such as the Masks, but well generally seaplanes flew under 3000m ...

Haifish, thanks for your reply. But I still can't figure out how to fix this problem. I don't have a separate folder even with planes (3do). Not to mention some 3d fixes. Or other "conflicts". It's very sad that I can't use the new pilots. And that they don't work. I have pure BAT Red core + Blue Edge. I can only guess where the key to my solution lies. I'm good at drawing skins) but I don't understand anything about these Hier him, and so on.
Here I read that a person has everything on version 4.2. And I also put this version. But still the problem remains. The pilots are not working, the aircraft is not displayed.

... sorry but I just checked each and every .mat and .msh that is related with the new Italian pilots that I added, and couldn't find a single one that needs the "Eyes_fr.tga" texture your log is talking about ... :-X
So I have no idea why you get this alarm ... :-X

Yes that is what I did initially but now I have extracted the miissing Mc-200 mesh from BAT. My problem is that I was trying to verify the Italian pilot mod in my basic MODact5.3 thinkng that it would be easier to identify problems there. My mistake it would have been much easier to test this beautiful mod in BAT-WAW

I am not very satisfied with the top gunner, as his parachute is slightly protruding in the turret, but we don't have much choice with Italian standing gunners, and there is none without a parachute ... :-X
Also, like for the stock one, the pilot's boots can't touch the pedals ... :-[
But well, these Italian pilots/gunners are so much better than the stock ones ... 8)

The common mistake is to provide a complete "hier.him" !
In this case the mod becomes specific to a version of the game or plane.
It is better to take only the lines concerning the implementation of new pilots and to modify your "hier.him".
This is easy for BAT users and for those who have installed Selector v4.01 or higher as they can extract the data from the game.

The problem, if you only borrow the pilots/gunners + Heads + Masks of this version and put them in a different version of the SM-81 (by DreamK I believe), is that the Attaching values of this hier.him may be totally wrong, with, as a result pilots/gunners not being placed where they should be, and with the correct stance ...
Besides, the 3D of Dimon's version of the SM-81B is totally different ...

It is better to take only the lines concerning the implementation of new pilots and to modify your "hier.him".
This is easy for BAT users and for those who have installed Selector v4.01 or higher as they can extract the data from the game.

The problem with your SM-81B is that it uses the same external FM name as the one included in BAT and which concerns, unfortunately, other SM-81s!

Hi Mick, thanks for the flyable version of the SM81-B, it works fine in my BAT install. However, I tried unsuccessfully to implement the Ranwers pilots, is there a procedure somewhere to teach how to do that ? I tried to copy/paste the pilot_xxx.msh , mask and .mat files, modified the hier.him file but no luck so far...

... the easiest way to do it, is to replace the flyable "SM81B" folder that is inside the "plane" folder, with the "SM81B" folder that is inside the "plane" folder of the non flyable version previously released (with Ranwers pilots) + the "Textures" folder" ... ;)

Most likely you have a bad install of this mod so IL2 is not finding the files he needs to load the plane.
It would also help if you could tell us which version of the game you have and the type of mod setup (BAT, VP, Modact etc etc) unfortunately the cristal ball was left behind during the last moving.

One question: where can i find the moving heads file made by barnesy?
I downloaded the big files mod and installed the folder at the top in the WAW3 section. All planes affected by the mod don't show up anymore if R.A. is selected

But, installing is just a recommendation. As discussed so far, 'the moving heads file made by barnesy' does not show much effect on Ranwers' pilots.

*Before copying and pasting, make sure to back up two original files.
ex : rename the original 2 files and put '-' in front of the file name.
Nono i already did that. I've replaced (with backups) the 2 files in the Il-2 main folder. I was speaking about the fact that i've put the moving heads folder in my WAW3 folder and the R.A. makes the mod-linked planes disappear

I think this is a problem caused by the characteristics of each 1946 mod, as is well known.
It's likely he's using a mod other than BAT, and eventually he needs to go back to that famous "log" issue.
If it's a problem with Barnesy's mod, he can remove the folder and test it.

The moving head mod modifies one of the base classes so it will easily conflict with many mods

Yep exactly. I do have BAT but when i install everything accordingly and select Regia Aeronautica with the planes affected by the mod, they literally disappear, not showing up both in QMB and in-game.
I can try to see if i can get a log

Replace the downloaded file with the file in the plane folder above.
- Make sure to back up the original file in the plane folder before replacing it.
- When turning the turret, the gunner's parachute slightly goes out of the fuselage. But it's not to the extent that it's very much.
- If you are not using Ranwers' Pilot folder, you may need the texture folder of Ranwers' Italy Pilot folder(at first page).
Tested on 4.12.2m, BAT 4.0 only.

Maybe you have another version of that plane, that loads before the Ro.57 Quadriarma (new 1.03 by CWatson) ...? o_O
If this is the case just edit the folder name so that it loads before the other Ro.57 ... ;)

This is because two versions exist at the same time.
Maybe Ranwers' Italian Pilot folder says v1.02 and WAW folder says v1.03.
If you choose either v1.02 or v1.03 to make the version the same, the problem will be solved.
