Excellent aircraft and lot of fun to fly.  Thank you!! I love those 30's aircraft. With Stalker's template it makes up into a pretty respectable F4B-2 as well.

Excellent plane Gio

Using Stalker's template I came up with this skin to use the A2N as a Curtiss Hawk II

Great idea for the Hawk II!  It was an export variant of the Curtiss F11C-2.

Nine of them were used by Bolívia in the Chaco War....  ;)

Following on a request from gunny0134 I attempted fix a few issues concerning the cockpit view of the stand alone mod posted here. Considering that the version available in BAT  4.2.2 an UP 3.4 are ok I just used the same fix provided there for any user of this mod.

Just as a note of caution your log will claim an error in the hier.him. However this error is not critical an in fact essential to fix the view from the cockpit . To fix this error more work is needed in the AN2 and AN3 mother class.

The fix have been tested in 409/UP2.01, 4.10.1 Modact and 4.12.2 Modact

to reduce impact on the java wall cod have been added

The download link with the upgrade is added to the first post.

I was late to report my result because of the hospital treatment.

It works well in 4.12.2m, BAT 4.1 TGA_WAW, but needed to give priority to the folder.

Thank you again for Frankiek's hard work... :-|

I'll mention one more thing and I won't mention this cockpit view anymore.

It's a Shift+F1 problem !!
What's your Shift+F1 status ??

4.12.2m, BAT 4.1 Stock ver.
(https://i.postimg.cc/1zY2Mrc9/2024-03-09-at-05-45-55.jpg) (https://postimg.cc/hJT2tx5w)

fix ver.
(https://i.postimg.cc/ZRS3G1Lj/2024-03-09-at-06-23-56.jpg) (https://postimg.cc/LqxnfQwZ)

To me, this seems to be a situation that I have to throw away one to get one... ::(

With 6 o'clock on the enemy's plane, I prefer to fire in Shift+F1 of 4.12.2m, BAT 4.1 Stock ver.

So it's a little uncomfortable to look at, but I'll just get only the cockpit file from fix ver and use it.

Thank you.

PS : My comments may be very disturbing to pilots seeking realistic air battles. I'd appreciate it if you could just consider it as a personal preference.

I can see the problem. As the camera hooks position in the body1 mesh are the same I suppose that we would need to change view angles in the class files. I will look into that and see if there is an easy fix.

Title: Re: Nakajima A2N2\3 in own slot
Post by: gunny0134 on March 09, 2024, 01:46:25 AM
Thank you.

I don't see this as a problem.

I see it as a matter of choice.

Because there will be a lot of pilots who would prefer the fix version of the cockpit.

But if we had more options... we'd be happy... ;D

Amazing the fix in UP2.01, DBW 1.71 and UP3.4 (I used these classes) work flawlessly as you can see from the two screenies in normal view and Shift+F1

While in Modact 5.30 (4.12.2) with exactly the same files you have only the external scope view

I don't have any explanation for this
Title: Re: Nakajima A2N2\3 in own slot
Post by: gunny0134 on March 09, 2024, 07:02:34 PM
Okay, I got it.

And after deep thought, I also concluded my position of action.

I'll choose the fixed version of cockpit.

Instead of using Shift+F1, I'll chase down the enemy plane and shoot it down the way it looks when the actual pilot looks at the tubular scope.

It's probably going to be very difficult.

I think it's going to be hard to shoot down one in a mission.

But I'll try to be realistic.

Thank you again for your hard work.

I reinstalled the 7 Zip program, also installing an additional program with a similar name, but Windows 10 does not let a lot of 7 Zip archives onto the computer, unfortunately. Write at the bottom of the notification screen that the virus has been eradicated.
I don’t know why I’m afraid.

Deleted the 7 Zip program from the computer (for some reason there were two of them),
and the archive with the Japanese biplane was successfully loaded.
Zip instructed the rar program to open the archive.
A little later I will try to find information on this biplane and adjust (if necessary) fm and em.

Yes little to do once an av decides that a certain file contains a virus it will always try to delete. Only thing you can try is to submit to online scan to confirm that file is clean then temporarily disable av download extract and install then enable again. In this way the av will delete the download file only after the extraction of the content

Hi Vasya!

Tested your new FM....

Trim now available only for elevator
The less powered engined is anyway good enough with smooth take off and good handling

As you asked what could you do....I was looking at some missing features (or better not enabled) and the only thnig I can suggest is to enable the raised seat....as open planes and moreover carrier based ones , can have the chance to look a bit over the engine , expecially when landing....

If you manage to enable this feature I can try to test how WxTech have explained is his works ( https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,71859.msg783124.html#msg783124 ) by trying to correctly position the relative cameraup in the hier....

I know how to move the camera, and it's most likely in one of the meshes, maybe Body.msh.
I don’t know how to enable the “stand over the seat” function.

Try writing in a mesh body like this:
Code: [Select]
[Hooks]
CAMERA <BASE>
CAMERAAIM <BASE>
CAMERAUP <BASE>

[HookLoc]
1 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 1 0 0.66084 0.0484004
1 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 1 -1E-05 -0.44909 0.06344
1 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 1 0 0.66084 0.0884004
Now I have a lot of seasonal work and no time to do mod tests.
