I run a straight SAS modact.  In order to add the Bismark, I downloaded the default ini's which were posted.  However, a technics.ini wasn't included in the download, and searches of my files come up empty.
Thank you to anyone who can lend a hand here.

Can be damaged these submarines when submerged?. Do you see his silhouette in the water or just the periscope as the originals?

Thanks

Hey Guys,

              The in-game Type VIIs are fitted as Type VII-C42s it seems , with 2 x twin 20mm and 1 x 37mm.
It would be nice as Doc Holiday suggested to have both the late war potent AA Type VII-C44 (?), and maybe even more importantly the early war Type VII-C.

             Type VII-C
This was only the first of the "C" variants - there were others, but this is when the Frontboot, the combat U-boat, really took shape.  The Type VII-C was widely produced and almost all U-Bootfahrer spent some time on a VII of one variant or another.  There was not much change from the "B" variant to the "C" but most notable was the addition of two more torpedoes, stowed under the deck externally and the AA armament was beefed up.

    Displacement................. 769/871 tons
    Dimensions..................... 218' 3" x 20' 3" x 15" 6"
Engines............................ twin shaft diesel and electric
    Power   (diesel)........... 2,800 hp
                (electric).......    750 hp
   Speed   (diesel)..........   17 knots
               (electric)......    7½ knots
Bunkers........................  105.25 tons of fuel oil
   Radius    (diesel).....  8,500 miles @ 10 knots
                       or.......   6,500 miles @ 12 knots
                (electric)..     80 miles @ 4 knots
                       or.....       30 miles @ 2 knots
  Tubes   (fwd)...........   four 21 inch
              (aft)............    One 21 inch
       (carried fourteen torpedoes or fourteen)
Guns..........................    Single 3.5 inch deck gun
   AA Guns..................     Single 37mm
                                  two single mount 20mm
   Crew........................   44 men
Later in the war, snorkel was added, the 3.5 inch (88mm) deck gun was removed, the two single mount 20mm were changed to two twin mounts of 20mm.  Various gunnery configurations were installed on different boats as the war drew on.  Some of the boats had the 'Alberich' rubber coating as protection against sonar.

Type VII-C42

The Type VII-C42 was further improved with larger fuel bunkers and therefore, increased radius.  The pressure hull was further strengthened and the conning tower was given armor plating, and there was more AA.

    Displacement................. 999/1,050 tons
    Dimensions..................... 225' 6" x 22' 3" x 16" 3"
Engines............................ twin shaft diesel and electric
    Power   (diesel)........... 2,800 hp
                (electric).......    750 hp
   Speed   (diesel)..........   16.75 knots
               (electric)......    7½ knots
Bunkers........................  180 tons of fuel oil
   Radius    (diesel).....  10,0500 miles @ 12 knots
                (electric)..     80 miles @ 4 knots
  Tubes   (fwd)...........   four 21 inch
              (aft)............    One 21 inch
(carried fourteen torpedoes or fourteen mines)
Guns..........................    Single 3.5 inch deck gun
   AA Guns..................     Single 37mm
                                  two twin mount 20mm
   Crew........................   45 men
Later in the war, snorkel was added and the AA was increased to either two single mount 37mm and some had the quad mount 37mm AA guns.  The 3.5 inch (88mm) deck gun was removed.

Type VIIC44(?)

Sincerely

the quad mount 37mm AA guns

quad 20mms, please...
something like a Flakvierling on the Flaktank.

lol i imagine 4x37mm... almost like a quadruple Bofors.

True Flakboats , built as Flaktraps were even better armed.
http://www.uboat.net/types/u-flak.htm
before the tower, a quad 20mm'
on the tower another one
aft the tower a single 37mm

pretty mad...

---------------------------
On a different note: Type II boats/shooting directions
---------------------------

'they have a single 20mm up front.
The problem with that thing  is that it can turn to the rear and shoot at an aircraft attacking from behind, the bullets passing right through the Tower in a most unrealistic way.
On the VII boats, the shooting arcs leave a lot to be desired, they can shoot in directions where it was only theoretically possible, but in practice not.

and just to somewhat complete the german stable by the most Victorious boat (tonnage wise)
http://www.uboat.net/types/ixc.htm

The type IX,
Designed in 1935-1936 as large ocean-going U-boats, they were derived from type IA. Diving depth designed as 100m operational and 200m crush depth (many boats went much deeper and survived). Fitted with 6 torpedo tubes below the waterline (4 at the bow and 2 at the stern) they carried 22 torpedoes

initially 1x20mm on tower, 1x 37mm on rear deck,
later up to two twin 20mms on tower, 1x quad 20mm on rear tower

later models had the 105mm cannon deleted...

a worthy target too :)

Reminds me of Silent Hunter III.

Most of the earlier U-boats were field modifed to upgraded flak standards later on, it wasn't just the late war production blocks so fitted.

Also, some based in the Med. had Breda MGs.

Topic is jolly old, so many years I using this mode, but only now I can figure out how to remove that long white periscopes from hull.
So I think this can be simple alpha-channel trick.
Also that red swordfish may be fixed too. Let's get more like das boot swordfish!
All you need is only replace tga and tgb files from similar folder.
