Couldn't the Me-264 have been air-air refueled and reached New York and back?

Actually this has been discussed in the RLM in 1942, and in 1944 the final conclusion was "Hat keinen Zweck" ("makes no sense") because the necessary methodes, procedures and technics had yet to be developed, which under war conditions just wasn't feasible.

The last plan to carry out attacks at the U.S. East Coast was to make it a one-way mission, with the plane ditching near the coast for to be picked up by a U-Boat which was to be met precisely there.
Figure yourself how much this is based on reality.

Oh I forgot: If you want something faster, how about hiring a modder yourself? IIRC I've stated my rates here once... just add 5% p/a on top and you're there.
