Old Franken Boeing P12-F4b
« on: March 20, 2017, 05:39:13 PM »

Wearing a Waco skin, I am no skinner.

Quite a while back I started a Hawk II mod as a stepping stone to the Hawk III.
For various reasons it didn't happen. That doesn't matter, we got an exellent one
anyway and the mod became the Ki10.Recently I decided to go ahead and finish the
original mod as an exercise, it was born in 409m and I will finish it in 409m.
I had envisioned making a Boeing P12 also out of the base mod and decided to do
that first because I thought I could finish it sooner, I was mistaken. There is
a bit more to do before I get with a skinner and remap as needed, some cosmetic
things also. The P12 will be in the USA slot and the 100E will be in the multi with a
different headrest followed later with the F4B in it's own slot.I do not have
the arrestor hook working yet but believe it is just something missing in 409m.
After these are done I will finally finish the HawkII- F11c.

Tedeschene, this is EXCELLENT news! The Hawk II fills a real gap when it comes to both the Sino-Japanese War and the Chaco War.

I promise you: you will see her fly over both Theatres of War!!!  ;)

Halfway through third pass, new rudder and tail wheel, took curve out of bottom of tail and changed cockpit rim. Did best
I could with Avia's box shaped CFD0, it is just a franken after all.

I guess its all in the eye the beholder, but that plane looks beautiful to me, in a bulky sort of way.

Its great and can be used well.   Nice work.

3D on P12 is done, working on E100 in multi slot, Archie will be doing default skins when I finish 3D. I still have to make the cockpit
classes, it still has the HawkII's which will cause a conflict down the road. It also still has the M-25 engine which cuts out in negative Gs
unlike the 1830 it should have which does not. I have them armed with 1 30cal, 1 50cal and 2 100lb bombs. One version of the F4 supposedly
could carry a 500lb but I have a hard time seeing it take off from a carrier deck at any rate it must have flown like a brick.I need to finish this first before I get too involved in stats of the F4B.
I plan on having someone who knows what they are doing look at the flight model after I am done with it. The mod should not be too far off.

I will finish the 3D first, you will not need the other changes to skin. I will remap the UVs if need them changed. Thanks!
