I'm still seeding 3.0 so it's not completely accurate so say nobody is seeding it any longer.

Ah, well I stand corrected then ;)

I've just never had an issue with the download links taking more than 3-10 minutes for any of the patches.

Mates, you can like your game as much as you want, but please get a few facts:
  • When I went to download TF 3.0, the torrent was dead and the only official link took 1 1/2 day to finish.
No, I don't have a crappy internet connection.
No, I'm not living on christmas islands.
Yes, I know how torrents work.
  • It's fine that you provide all necessary information @ATAG and it's heroic that you step in the gap here, but at this point you took me wrong: When I buy a game, I expect not having to google for a 3rd party site to be able to play it at all.
  • Taking point 2 into consideration, "Joe User" who buys the game off the shelf, installs it and tries to start an online session, will for sure return the game to the store if he's not into modding business.

Best regards - Mike

Agreed to that Mike. It is a game that has nothing to offer by itself. You need team fusion patch in order to have fun with it. As I nee mods to have fun with IL2.
What you say is the main problem with clod. and is why it gather a small community as it does. But it fun. Played 3 hours yesterday and had a blast 90 people dedicated to bomb airfields over England , or escorting them or to shoot the bombers down. It is like flying in a campaign.
So I would not attack those who made it playable, more like saying why did this game never get finished. If it had been releast today with more high end pc on market I think it would survive

That's never been my attention.
Better take my frustration with CloD as a sign that if you respectively the ATAG want to keep CloD alive, lowering the hurdles for newcomers in required.
If I knew I would tell you how... the best thing would be to have a large leaflet in each and every CloD box telling that before you even consider to install this game, you should register at ATAG :D

True, but I know Team Fusion have tried to get these updates official and it has as we in the modding society experienced failed .
Anyhow it is in all parties interest to get these patches as public as it is possible. The best thing would be having a installer setup for them.
I had no problems with it, but I know many has.
I know for a fact that 99 % of our members here will love to fly this game online. It is like flying in a campaign with living opponents. You got targets that must be achieved and you need teamwork, witch oddly enough is present. You will find yourselves in a formation with other passioned sim flyers if you join TS. We are too few to keep many servers alive, I wish for more players in all timezones so we can have servers going 24/7 . If I played FPS games a ping on over 100 would kill my achievements but in Clod it seems to work fine. ATAG server are placed on Chicago and I fly well on it

And when I click on all 4 downloads for all the patches, every single time, I have usually less than 30 minutes to download.  That is almost 3gb of data.  Did you ever think that maybe the hosting service might have been doing maintenance at the time?

Just so you can see it for yourself.  I just clicked on all 4 download links and even before I could take a screen shot, one of them was already done.

Oh, you mean like buying the DVD copy of IL246 and then downloading all the patches and hotfixes from TD and 3rd party sites?  Last I checked the official patches for IL246 were hosted on a 3rd party file share server.

Here's a simple copy and paste for 4.09 for instance:

http://www.mission4today.com/index.p...etails&id=3764
http://www.myotherdrive.com/dyn/dl/7...a64fi/409m.exe

http://mambonight.co.uk/il2/409m.exe
http://www.diavolirossi.net/it/risor...3%3Apatch-4.09

That's official?  The patches were posted at 1C for 1946 just as the patches for TF were posted at 1C in the SAME EXACT FASHION!!!!  Are you telling me the guide that came in the 46 DVD said anything about using any of those links to get official patches for the game?  I'm sorry, but 46 has 10x the problems of finding all the various patches for it than Clod does, let alone installing them all.  I have the DVD in front of me in the original box it came in.  Please let me know where this magic piece of paper is that is telling me or pointing me where to go?

See my same point above.  Or are there servers on the vanilla 46 DVD version somewhere?  Again, you are talking about the SAME EXACT thing between 2 games lol. I mean, I'm baffled.  I like facts as much as the next guy, but lets actually talk about the facts next time.
