Thank you for this map. I have been hoping someone would make this one. Many RAAF Beaufighter missions in this area

agracier,

This is another map that merits a gold star. I've wanted a map of this area for a long time and this map exceeds my expectations. Thanks!

Cheers,

Riptide

It's almost been three years since this great map came out.
In that time I've learned a few thing about map editing. In the last month, I've done a few "things" to this map to make it more enjoyable to me. I had the idea to throw it out there to see if it's worth anything.
What I did, was to move Lae Drome close to where I thought it should be. Added a seaplane base close by, added an airfield at Finschhafen, along with a seaplane base close by, leveled the airfields, and added some infrastructure. I also added and changed some text.
I've included the _Tex files (which most people won't need), and the ini, (which most people won't need). The critical items in the map file are the new Actors file, the new map_t, the new map_h, and the texts.
Back up, back up, back up.
I use this in UP3, DBW1.71 and the modded 4.12.

Let me know what I screwed up, so I can carry it over to my next map edit project.

PS If I've stepped on anyone's toes, I'm sorry.

See one small defect on map that is actually captured in Bravo's screen shot.  Look closely at the parking area where the three hangers are located.  Notice there is a concrete taxi way texture in the middle of the sand parking area.

Only other thing I have seen are some slight off alignments for some for the runway plates on one of the other airfields, but overall looks great!

Think I got it all now..(including the trees) I also moved a blast pen that was partially in the taxiway in the cape Cloucester airfield and patched up some partially missing taxiways......

I also added a few splinter boxes to Lae..

Just override the old actors, static file.....(always back up the old one........just in case)

.

This is fun..

FYI, my next project is to finish working on the unfinished Upper Burma map.

I can't make maps, but I am becoming fair at editing them .
