Glad you like it SAS~Rock.  Been messing with the colour of the national insignia today, I think the colour now better reflects the Estonian colours.  Also toned down the code.

Here is her sister ship L1047.

And the underside insignia.

With the outbreak of war British military exports were curtailed on 13th September 1939.

The two Estonian aircraft would soon after be issued to No 603 Sqdn RAF.

In my alternate history L1046 and L1047 will eventually reach Estonia and the remaining ten aircraft will follow very soon after.

Wishing you all the very best, Pete.

Hello SAS~Rock, here is the link to my 4Shared for all those like me who have a facination for the camouflage and markings applied to British military export aircraft, real or what if.

http://www.4shared.com/file/8ugvdG96/Spitfire_MkI_Estonia_V2.html

What may have been, July 1939.

Spitfire Mk.I on a test flight from the company airfield prior to acceptance by Estonian personel.

The download contains skins of L1046 and L1047, insignia only no codes and a blank.

Wishing you all the very best, Pete.

Hello A1_Phoenix, nice skin, Finnish aircraft are my favourite subject.

My Estonia campaign is three missions in at the moment but the aim is to eventually have all the Spitfires arrive in country, most will suffer at the hands of a Russian assault, however the story will have at least two aircraft making their way to Finland escorting a transport with VIP's.  Has the making of a further what if eh, maybe Finlands aircraft manufacturers strip down these aircraft and copy the parts, build new ones.  Maybe the SchmittFire mod could make an appearance.  Spitfire with a DB engine, the mod is here somewhere I think although I haven't tried it yet.

Strange how the mind wanders isn't it.

Wishing you all the very best, Pete.

hi mission-bug :) thanks you!

your idea isn't bad at all :) my start point was a direct british export with spitfire Mk.I early/Mk.I/Mk.Ib (yes, also with unreliable cannons and later converted to 8mg), circa early 1939 so they can be used for early war with ussr

your campaign will be before or after winter war? cause a pair of "new" planes coming from estonia are more than welcome :) i'll cover estonian markings with some field paint so they can be used.. and if pilots can join FAF small estonian flags painted below the cockpits? ;)

I like your thoughts A1_Phoenix, a straight forward export of Spits to Finland would make for a lovely campaign.

The reason my campaign would involve aircraft heading for Finland is that in reality some escaped, alas to Sweden though.  Following the invasion of Poland and its division into german and Soviet areas a  mutual assistance pact was forced on the Baltic states by the Russians and signed in September 1939, under this agreement Soviet forces were allowed to use various facilities in Estonia after this date.  So in answer to your question in my what if scenario the aircraft would reach Finland prior to the winter war which started in November 1939.  Soviet forces actually used Estonian bases to launch missions against Finland during the winter war.  The Baltic states were finally invaded and fully occupied from the 17th June 1940.

Wishing you all the very best, Pete.

Unless someone happens to have it and will share it with you then it is unlikely you'll get it, Rock's work has not been available for some time now.
