Is there a way to add BAT planes to dgen?
« on: April 11, 2025, 03:46:43 AM »

I'd like to use the great planes added in BAT in my campaign, but unfortunately the only planes that appear in the dynamic campaign are from older versions.
Is it possible to add planes by writing them to the planes.DB file, pacificplane, or europlane?
I have so many planes I'd like to add, so does anyone have a list?

https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php?topic=61913.0
I've downloaded this and am playing with it. :)

not too sure about dgen but DCG allows you to do so. I've even made  BAT optimised files to make it work properly.

You need DGenMod if you want new planes and maps.

Thanks for your reply. ;)
I'm already doing DCG, but I'm greedy and I'm not satisfied with that and am looking for other avenues! :P

I have no knowledge of dgenmod and don't even know where to get it!
I have been able to find some for DBW and others, but where can I find one that is compatible with BAT 4.3?
I also found one called Dgenpack, but it is in Russian, and I don't want to install it.
I tried to install it, but I made a mistake and had to reinstall the BAT itself... :(
Well, this is my problem, so please don't worry about it. :-|

If you download my Balkan campaign, then you’ll have DGenMod. But it’s not fully compatible with BAT yet, so you’ll have to check that the loadouts are the same when you add planes.

Thank you vonOben! ]hello2[
I downloaded it
I'll play the campaign you created too!
First of all, I'll have to fix the broken BAT somehow. :(

BAT can now be started again.

I have also downloaded vonOben's campaign, but what should I do from here on?
This is my first time using dgenmod and I don't know what to do.
I'm very sorry, but I would be grateful if you could tell me what I should do next.

Have you read and followed the readme file?
That is usually a good way to get started.  ;)

If there is something you don’t understand, feel free to ask.

Yes, I installed BATMODS as per the readme file and confirmed in the game that I could play the Balkan 1941 campaign! ^-^

I was also impressed that the names of many planes added in BAT were listed in the ALLplane section of the Data file. ]thumleft[
And the main reason I created this topic is, how can I make these planes appear in the campaign?
For example, I would like to try a mission in the existing IJN Mariana campaign where I take off from the Taiho class CV with an A6M and escort a D4Y.
These Taiho and D4Y do not appear in the existing campaign, but they do exist in BAT and their names exist in the data file.
I would like to have planes and ships that do not appear in the existing dynamic campaign appear not only as my own, but also as enemy and AI friendly aircraft.
Also, what should I do if I want to add a plane that does not exist in the plane file?
I don't know where to refer to the FMFUELMASS values.

I'm sorry for asking so many questions like a child who doesn't know anything, but I would appreciate it if you could teach me.

To start visit my site and download the DGenMod 2.1.0.0 English manual.

New planes are rather easy to add, I usually copy an existing plane that is similar to the new plane.
The fm values are found in the FM file for the new plane.
So you need NTRK Wizard for that, and it’s not difficult.

To find the payload’s for the AllWeapons.dat file you’ll find the information in the BAT WAW weapons.property file.

I understand that I need to add the names of ships and planes in the STD file to the dat files such as Allclass, plane, weapon, capitalship, and carrier of dgenmod.
I was able to download NTRK Wizard to open FM files, but it seems that it doesn't work properly on my computer uless I change the settings of my PC, so I'll put it aside for now.

In my dgen folder, there are the BAT campaign from https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,61913.0.html, several campaigns added in DCG, and campaign maps starting with ETO and PTO that exist in the dgen folder, which I'm not sure if they were included in the dgenpack that I downloaded but ended up deleting.
There is also a balkanwar campaign in BATMODS.

I want to add new ships and planes to the BAT campaign maps.
In this case, is it okay to not edit dat files such as Pacificplanes and Europlanes, or do I just need to edit the DB file?
Is it possible to do this using dgen.exe that came with the balkanwar campaign?
Or do I have to edit files such as pacificplanes in the dgenforBAT campaign?
When I open the dgenmod mission file, the name of chiefs is different from BAT, so I have a feeling that editing this will be a pain.

Europlanes and Pacificplanes are not usel by DgenMod, only the dat files described in the manual.

Try some easy editing in the db file for the campaign you want to edit, and select a plane that already is in the dat files and in BAT with the same loadout.

This is a good way of learning how it works.

And you must read the manual to understand how DGenMod works.

Good luck!
