American Knights: The Empire Strikes Back

This campaign was made with Il-2 1946, 4.10.1 #DBW 1916.

I can't verify if this campaign will work with anything else (but I wouldn't count on it).

This is a 14-mission, historical campaign, in which you will fly with No.84 Squadron, RAF, and then the US 17th Aero Squadron

The missions with No.84 Squadron are based on the missions of First Lieutenant George Augustus Vaughn Jr, a United States Army Air Service pilot who was sent to serve with 84 Squadron to gain combat experience, and was later transferred to the 17th Aero Squadron.  Your missions with the 17th Aero Squadron are based on the missions of various pilots within the squadron.

This campaign runs from June to October, 1918.

You will fly the the S.E.5a and then the Sopwith Camel.

Hey, you, get off of my cloud!

In my campaigns, always start with the highest rank available.  You will thus have command of your squadron in the air in all missions, allowing you to order individual flights to attack specific targets.

Pop goes the world!

There is other air activity, and sometimes ground activity, going on during these missions.  This is for the sake of immersion, a little reminder that there is more to this war than just you.  Cycle through the cameras if you want to see what else is going on.

Country roads...take me home...

Air-to-air missions make up the vast majority of this campaign, but there are some ground attack missions.  This reflects the real-life missions of the RAF's No.84 Squadron and the US 17th Aero Squadron.

Smoke gets in your eyes...

...Flying on 4.12.2m, BAT 4.1_DOF

The difficulty for me was the object BessonneauLight. But it seems that DBW's BessonneauLight is the same as BAT's Bessonneau. So we can choose whether to edit Static.ini or Mission about that for playing this campaign in BAT.

Thank you.

WWI campaign is always welcome !!
