Do the German "Umlaute" - ä (ae) ö (oe), ü (ue) - work ?!?!

I remember a map tester from ... Canada (?) who answered, that this was displayed correctly.

It depends on the setup of individual systems

Mmmh ... so this should be reworked, too ?

I wander why no one reported this back for the version 2.

I wander why no one reported this back for the version 2.

..... ::( ::( ::(

Because It was only a brief problem in the mission intro, it had nothing to do with the actual mission flight.

In other words, it's just an aesthetic problem...

But, from a map maker's point of view, my answer may be very disappointing.

Because place nomination is an important issue on the map.

However...
Thank you for your hint, gunny!
I released a new dl link (still named version 2) with an alternative "_texts" file.      (Frankiek  :-[ )

If anyone could repot back, please ...

Hope our Scandinavian friends won't kill me ... :)

Yes, the fonts are well expressed without any broken spots.... ;D

Big thank you !!

And one question is, can the solution you offered apply to other maps with the same symptoms ?

Because your settlements_texts file seems to be compatible with. I'll keep this file in mind and test it on a different map one day.

That's good news!
Thanks for the report.

Do your question mean my other maps or any map?
For the Silesia map which I am reworking at the moment,
I will -now- offer an alternative _texts file, too.

Any map, not yours !!

Never mind. I'm going to keep this in mind and try to apply it on my own later.

Yes, that should be possible, as you can open the file with the Windows editor.

I wander if two maps with only different _texts file would work together in multiplay?

But the problem I see, gunny is:
If you have a "broken" _texts file, where f.e. a German Ö is displayed as a square, how you gonna know what replacement you have to use?  :)

When I opened your solution file as an editor, I realized.

Most map files contain 'texts' file. I didn't know what file this was until now. I just knew it was a kind of Readme file... ::(

There's all the places name on the map.

When I find a broken place name font on the map, I can probably fix the place name in the 'texts' file.

The fix method can be done according to the notation of each country.

So, it was my misunderstanding that I thought your solution file would be a utility that could be applied to any map.

Thank you.

PS : but it's another problem to know what the original spell of a place name's broken font is. I think this should be referred to the actual map. Then, would it be better to leave it as it is for mental health... ::( ::(
