Download link for New Guinea New Britain - all map files

Howdy.

Could someone walk me through how to install that map in VPMod?  Is it possible?
I downloaded the zip file, and there are no instructions with it. I'm assuming it was intended for BAT.

Maps are very flexible in term of install the main problem is to have all the textures and objects needed for the map. So first thing you need to unzip the map folders into the #Sas\mapmods\maps folder then you need to update the all.ini file (should be inside mapmods folders) with the relevant lines providing the path to the load.ini.
Third make sure that additional textures (if included go to the _tex folder.
Once this is done launch il2 to verify that the new map is showing in the full mission builder.

nce this is done launch il2 to verify that the new map is showing in the full mission builder.
... and make sure you can save the mission.
If not, you're missing items.

When I unzipped the download there seemed to be files for 4 different maps. There are no subfolders, just one folder titled "Ngnb_dt". There are no 3do files or tex files.

If it wouldn't be too much trouble, perhaps you could download the zip file and have a look at it. I got the link to it from a forum thread for BAT, and I think this download was intended for that mod. I have BAT installed on my PC, and it has that map on it already. My install of YPack also has that map. I'd like to have it in VPMod, but I'm not sure if this particular download has all the proper files to install the map in VPMod.

The link I downloaded came from reply #30 in this thread:

https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,63137.24.html

I appreciate you guys taking the time to try and help me.

I know the map. Just drop the Ngnb_dt folder in the maps folder then add one line to the all.ini for each of the 4 load.ini inside

I know the map. Just drop the Ngnb_dt folder in the maps folder then add one line to the all.ini for each of the 4 load.ini inside

Here are the entries I made in the all.ini file:

New_Britain1-44 ngnb_dt/ngnb_1-44.ini
New_Britain3-43 ngnb_dt/ngnb_3-43.ini
New_Britain6-44 ngnb_dt/ngnb_6-44.ini
New_Britain9-43 ngnb_dt/ngnb_9-43.ini

The map names show up in the FMB map list, but they will not load. I get this error message:

I remember installing this map in my VP install, so it can be done.
There's a bit of a process however.
The below link should explain what's required.

In addition to genXgamer post on someone request I have extracted the missing objects so you can download and install and verify if this will work for you.

Still no joy. It acts like it's saving the mission, but it doesn't. When you try to open it again, it just isn't there. When I open the folder where it's supposed to be saving it in the missions folder, I find a "properties" file, but no "mission" file.

I've done everything I found through GenXgamers post except this one, because the link is broken and I can't find the sfs files.

up_objects04.sfs
Boomers packs - https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,16124.msg173463.html#msg173463
don't forget the .rc file entries to enable them as follows;
@sfs MOUNT up_objects01.sfs
@sfs MOUNT up_objects02.sfs
@sfs MOUNT up_objects03.sfs
@sfs MOUNT up_objects04.sfs"

I installed all the files I got from your download, as well. I wasn't sure about the 3do folders you included, so I just put all 3 of them in the main 3do folder in the games root directory.

Any ideas?

I am afraid that you did a wrong install.

Just extract the folder DT_NGNB_Objects into the #SAS folder

In alternative you can extract the 3do folder directly into the existing #SAS/STATIC_OBJECTS folder.

Also remember to add the relevant lines to your static.ini file

Okay.
The download I got from you had a 3do folder with 3 subfolders full of files in it. It also had a text file that said to add the contents of that file to the Static.ini file, which I did at, #SAS/STD/com/maddox/il2/Objects/Static.ini
I have now removed the three 3do folders from the #SAS/3d0 folder. But my VPMod install does not have a "#SAS/STATIC_OBJECTS folder".
It has this at   #SAS/

Is there someplace in that bunch that I can place the 3do folders you sent to me, or should they go somewhere else?

No worries the easiest thing to do is just drop the entire DT_NGNB_Objects folder inside the #SAS folder it will work
