The video about the navigation system is cool, thanks for sharing.
Knobs, switches, mechanical indicators... aren't they lovely. No touch screens!  :)

There was YT channel with wonderful videos of Phantoms in Hyakuri (JP). I used to watch them in the late evening with a glass of Port. Very relaxing.  8)
Can not find that channel so just as an example:

Edit: I found the channel

Nice channel Dimlee, thanks for sharing.
@shahryar thanks for that snipped as well, however there are quite some voices noting that the RIO pit seems too large for an F-4, suggesting it's and Iranian F-14 that shadowed the Superbug here.

Anyhow, "Wags" (aka Growling Sidewinder) just published a video showcasing a non-disclosed pre-release version of the Heatblur Phantom against MiG-21s:

yeah, that might be the case, thanks for mentioning.  ]thumbsup[

Anyways, though that was an exciting move, such actions might not be the most effective in a 4th/5th gen air warfare.

The Hellenic Air Force scheduled a " Phantom Phriday " event .

Notice the camera inside the cockpit , which seems to be horizontally steady ( perhaps could this feature be requested for the game  :) )

Oh man, lucky Greeks, they can fly in cool Planes, very low.
I mean cool for polluting Diesel Jets, dirty stuff. Oldschool terminology.
When it flies? Why not?

Scaring daisies is forbidden here.  :P

Very cool video, Ouzo, mmmhh, Cheers

I have the F-4 in DCS and it is very well modeled I think.  It's like flying a god damn refrigerator!  Everything is so finicky, and requires so much tuning... I love it! It's a jet designed in the 50s afterall.  Once the drop tanks are punched it is a little more maneuverable and as long as you can keep things vertical or put enough distance between you and the threat it is a decent dog fighter and just keep the burners going (faster, burns more fuel, lighter).  I am well aware this isn't an F-18 and wasn't expecting anything of the such.  It takes off like a barge, flies like a cement truck, and lands like dumpster.

Typical energy fighter.
As long as you stay fast and get rid of your ordnance (except missiles) that thing actually doesn't lack much of maneuverability compared to a loaded F-15. It's rather that the latter can keep the energy up much easier.

By the way that's what I dislike about DCS a bit: All this energy fighting, tactical positioning etc. doesn't matter that much as in DCS most of the fights are either pure missile exchanges, or just slow turn&burn battles, always on the edge of a stall.
Which is distinctively different to any real life encounter.
I really literally can't think of any real life aerial clash that went remotely like 99.9% of DCS dogfights do and personally, I blame it on the missiles which to me are way too effective in DCS.

Some beautiful pictures of japanese Phantoms .
Notice that the pilot and the " guy in the back " can each one close their own canopy
