Hyperlobby issues
« on: November 20, 2023, 03:22:04 PM »

Hello all!
Got a 2nd pc setup so that my brother and I can play multiplayer IL-2 through hyperlobby.
Tried to open a server and tried to join it, but it kept giving a failed to connect to server : reason: timeout error
I've looked everywhere for a fix, but all solutions brought no luck.
I tried to join other public servers on HL, but nothing works.
Does anyone know a solution?
We are both on BAT 4.2.1 v5.00m, identical installs aside from some extra aircraft.

Thanks, EddyT

Look at Portforwarding, might be you manualy need to forward some ports in your router or/and firewall

Other than that, it might be you got some server related settings incorrect in your Conf.ini (or simply the wrong game version, though i think it would say that)

Ok, I'll try Portforwarding as my brother and I are both on v5.00 and BAT 4.2.1
Which port should i forward?

TCP: 21000
UDP: 21000

As far as i know Hyperlobby doesnt need to be portforwarded.

An other thing you can check if you use a Firewall other than the crappy one in Windows it self, is make sure that Windows Firewall is not active, ive seen a few times that Windows Firewall did not fully disable even though Windows detected there was other Firewall software installed.

Hi

Make HL search the game path after setting it to default, start a new link to the desired game directory of il2 exe, if the text in the search box is red its not ok it should be white.

Where is this text box with red/white text?

I found the window where you can change the il2fb.exe path, but no red or white text.

On my pc, 21000 is already forwarded as well as 22000 and 8800.
I think the issue lies somewhere in this pc, as the other one we set up is able to connect to other servers, and has worked in the past.
I am yet to deduce the issue, the only real difference is that this pc is on windows 11, and the other is on windows 10, but I don't see how that would change anything, considering that win11 is basically win10 in a new shell. I also disabled my firewalls on win11, but the timeout error still prevails.

Thanks,
