UP 3.4 Patch 2 Jet Engine Tuning
« on: November 15, 2023, 09:21:08 AM »

Hey everyone,
Here's a sneak peek of what's cooking in Hotfix 24. We're currently fine-tuning some jet engine details, specifically the spool up times and how they respond to throttle movements. You know how finicky the Jumo 004 can be about that!

FL2070 has been dishing out top-notch updates for the Jumo and BMW engines, and we're not stopping until Hotfix 24 hits. Now, let's talk about another beast – the GE J-33, also known as Allison J-33 or GE I-40 engine on the YP-80A.

In this test, we're checking the maximum throttle movement speed (supposedly 5 seconds from idle to full throttle) and the spool up reaction of the engine (about 15 seconds from 20% RPM to rated RPMs). Throttle time is "T1," and "T2" shows the time from idle to 95% RPMs. Check out the video remarks for all the juicy details.

Just in case you were wondering whether there's nothing going on here anymore: It is.
The whole jet acceleration code has been changed and parameter updates are on their way.
Here's a little testing of Arados, one with Jumo engines, one with BMW:
