Deterioration while Testing/Adjusting Missions
« on: November 08, 2023, 07:49:23 AM »

Just an observation of something I've been dealing with making missions...

It seems if you are building a full scale mission from takeoff to landing, the timing of the aircraft seems to change depending on a few things.

- how long you have been running the game
- using time compression before aircraft are airborne
- engine start up

I see  problems when I'm building a missions going back and forth from Single Missions, to FMB, and I think more so while playing it to test from FMB over longer periods of time.  Something seems to deteriorate over time (hours I mean).  Now, after I run a test flight I restart the game.

Also, your flight coordination seems to go retarded if you time compress through all the taxiing and take offs.  So I have to wait until all a/c are in the air before.  With a lot of planes this can take a while to test coordination.

The engine start up is nice, but for something where you are trying to link up a/c in flight from take off it messes things up sometimes.  I just give extra time though for startups as a workaround.

Deterioration or just randomness?
I never created complex take-off missions with many a/c. But when I create and replay missions with air start of large formations, I see different behaviour in many of those replays. One time this formation is perfect, another time mid-air collision happens, etc.

I did try time compression its disaster even after take off specially higher values it crashes the plane unless its properly placed /arranged, also the direction in take offs its opposite side at times then it misdirects take off more so with taxi to take off. Lots also in altitude it doesn t follow your inputs its got higher results. Some also crashes over mountains, if changed in waypoints but in that area direction it does the same. Got one FMB created and testing takes more time than making it. Its sometimes does not follow whats played on FMB than played in missions/single/ [here].. mode. Patience, its played 5min but created in 30min.

Deterioration or just randomness?

I thought it was randomness at first but on a particular mission anytime I would time skip through the taxi and take the last a/c to take off was ahead by a minute, frustrating when you have to coordinate all the flights, linking them together with "set target as" doesn't work 100%.

That is just single missions....

I make dogfight missions so I can respawn in a mission, if you are making a big mission changing and testing, something happens with your "home bases" you have placed where they wont show up when you run it.
