*Update*

Serious question: Should we just shelve it and wait for aircraft-specific feedback from users?
The reason I'm asking is that from a quick&dirty cross-check, I could identify a handful of "inverted compass" issues, but - and here comes the big BUT:
No one ever took note of these before.
They all have been present in the corresponding aircraft from day one.

This tells me that we're gonna spend several months hunting down things no one ever sees in the coming 10 years.

Just a bums feeling, waiting for your feedback.

I'm good with whatever you came up, even if you say "Guys, I have sth. better to do".
Same here, I didn't noticed sth. before, nor it affecting Gameplay since I first played this Game.

I can understand if it's not going to be fixed.

Best wishes

Caveat: I use BAT. I agree with Knoch. Let me add that I use the compass regularly but I lazily tend to use Whistler's HUD display rather than look at the cockpit instruments. Certainly, it would be great to have all compass' working correctly, but is that the best use of your time? Only you can answer that one.

Certainly not, that's what got me asking ;)
I've been measuring my performance on a quick test with 25 pits.
You start quick with about 1 pit every minutes, as long as they behave normally and the compass is simple (i.e. just a single magnetic compass).
German A/C with repeater compass take 4 minutes at least (if they behave properly).
Once a problem arises, you need to re-check, take note of the issue, write down cockpit and a/c classnames etc.
In the long run, it takes about 6 minutes per cockpit test loop.

That's 70 hours nonstop cockpit testing. Fixing errors not included.
Even if I had 10 active testers at hands, waiting for all results, dealing with incomplete or errative reports and collecting it all would take just as long.
Not feasible.

I think it should be fixed .
Because the game is a flight simulator .

Even if the processing is very slow , it can be done .
It will perhaps take on or two years .

How about prioritizing to the most 'important' birds, at least initially? Planes which played only a minor role, or which were prototypes only, or are merely what-if fever dreams that never got off the drawing board could be put on the back burner.

We can discuss this at any time further on, but I will not stop any further Ultrapack Release for testing this or defining a test procedure simply because this would mean that the next patch/hotfix would become a 2024 x-mas present earliest, where other than the cockpit tests everything is ready for release.

It seems I'm late to the party. Hey, it was faster than "two weeks".  :P

Thanks again Dimlee.
I've checked your list and for the time being, put it on the backlog for a future hotfix.
Reason being that many of the issues reported are valid, but not related to the changes applied with Hotfix 20 - it's rather due to the fact that the underlying compass system of our planes is not historically correct in many cases (this includes both stock and mod planes), and we need to strictly separate both cases since fixing issues introduced with the Hotfix 20 code change will be a breeze, whereas fixing the real compass issues intrinsically being part of the system will be extremely tedious, involving 3D rework often times and thoroughly tested code changes almost every time.

Thanks for your understanding.

Can I ask if the search for compass issues is still live?

I ask because I've noticed in a lot of the Fw-190's that in a flat banked turn the cockpit compass sticks at a certain point and will only flick to your current heading once you level the plane out again. I could give you all variants I've been experiencing this on.

I've been using Cassie for offline missions and campaigns (not the intended use I know) and have found it to be the most reliable modded game in this respect, I usually just rely on cockpit instrumentation when flying like this.
