Hi all.

So I've been away for a long time, but that doesn't mean I'm not working on projects.
Today I decided to share with you my side project. Namely, work on the Bf-109 E3 series. This is black work. She's still raw. But it works pretty well in my "00_BF109_Ultimate_Pack_v3,4" build.
What's new here.
From the new... I came up with the idea to no longer "draw" cockpits. Since I did it on A6M, MC-202,205, and other aircraft models. Now I "place" them, directly in the model of the plane itself. Which is much easier.
What can I say here. Since standard skins have their own painted cockpit. You will need to remove this zone using the program. Paint, Adobe, Krita and others. To whom it is not important, they can launch it in this form. It will not be worse. I especially want to note how the panel behaves at night. If you zoom in on the camera, you'll see for yourself. Attached a screenshot.

Interesting bonus...

Tomorrow I plan to return to the boats, and in the evening I will again take care of the Bf-109.
And yes, if anyone needs it, then I updated my empty skin for the standard model. Added rivets, removed some inconsistencies. I plan to close this topic on earlier versions, though for this I need to collect more information.
That's all I have for now. Wait for the next news.

Today, in fact, the day has passed by ... For some reason I climbed into the cockpits, I wanted to "dig in" there. I don't think I will go there again. Of course the cockpit and its appearance can be brought to mind. Look at the photo and color it as you like. However, you need to be able to prioritize. Or you'll be confused. I have nothing to show. I can only share some TGA files. Which you download, you can replace. This is of little interest to me now. However, I tried...

Hi, 9078roman !!

I happily choose your Bf-109E-3 visual upgrade version.

I like that your Bf-109E-3 can apply all the skin.

And...gunsite and pennant were personally added. This is only my taste... ;)

I wish you all the best.

Thank you !!

Many thanks Roman.  Yes like your upgrade version a lot, and all in one skin, as such.

The Kriegsmarine are waiting patiently for your return...;)

Cheers

Hello gunny,

Thank you for rating. In fact, you can change a lot, the main thing is to stop in time ...
Now for some questions I'm still thinking about...

So is it correct that I added an armored back for the E-3 model. It seems to me that it should not be, at least among the photo archives (and I rely mainly on drawings and real photographs), I have not seen it anywhere. Maybe she's redundant here.

In addition, I upgraded all other lines to the Bf-109 E-7 series. But yesterday, for some reason, I ran into problems that I had not met before. I repainted and improved the textures for the panels. And I decided to change them. But after replacing the TGA files, in my Log file, it is written about the problem with opening files for some reason related to the pilot, but not to the panel itself. I broke my head last night what it could be. I try to keep the original files, and add only what is necessary for improvement. But alas. I have not found the answer yet, and have not found a way out.

As soon as I find it, I will proceed to the final completion, and little by little I will update these models further. By the way, for the E-3, I already made new wheels (not so blue) and slightly reduced the rear wheel rim and added a tread pattern to it. Then I'm going to make a separate view of the panel for the early series, and series E-1,3,4... But as I wrote earlier, I ran into a strange problem for me ..

By the way, I encountered it when I was trying to attach a new kind of propeller for the E-3. But then it helped me to simply move the TGA files from the source, which was the Bf-110 from Barnesy. That is why when you open the file in the program you will see that there are two of them. And I couldn't remove it. It's annoying, but not much. In any case, when I remove this (second) propeller, I find again a place for an error in my Log - file. About the fact that it is impossible to open the texture, or for example, its absence at all. Even though they are fine...
Since I would have written about it anyway, I will write to you now. And maybe someone else will read and help me with advice. Because further, I would not want to meet the same errors and problems.

However, I still don't understand much.

Oops...

I consider the comments above to be a very roundabout post that want to say to all users...with my nickname.

If it's really something that only talks to me...I'm scared... ::( ::( ::(

Some improvements have been made here, they are not significant.

Bf-109 E-4

according to him, I still have a question, what should be the cockpit lantern. I met a lot of photos and pictures in which the cockpit canopy without a partition, as in this photo:

here is a version with bulletproof glass, I screwed the bulletproof glass from the "F" series. It is more accurate and detailed. In my opinion it looks good. But about him, I still have to look at the photos and archives, to the question of what it was like, size, height, and so on ...

Series E-7.

It is also planned in two types, with bulletproof glass and without. I also want to slightly change the very shape of the propeller fairing. Make it a little sharper.

Series - "photo reconnaissance"

It is planned to make a new texture. And try to find information on these versions. I think it will be more difficult...

and naturally the "early" series participated in the Spanish Civil War.
Everything is done according to them, it remains to make some changes on the wheels (as for the wheels, I would like to see several versions so that the planes have some personality. And of course the cockpit.

So, I'm back with the following news.
1. I made a new rear wheel
2. I’m preparing a more classic version of camouflage, of course it will have insignia. I am planning two versions of them, with a yellow nose area, and a yellow part of the tail, and without. Today I adjusted the camouflage, it looks much better.

During my absence I continued work on the Bf-109. I chose an earlier series.

Made many changes, including:

1. Fixed the rear wheel.

2.  Fixed the main wheels, it is based on a mod from BomberKiller (Thanks to him for his abandoned work, rest in peace, good friend).

(On my own behalf, I would like to add that I knew him a little. But downloading his mod... I just thought, it’s a pity that he won’t see my work. He probably would have liked it. It feels empty inside, somehow when you know about something like this... )

3. Corrected the main landing gear struts (they will be added separately as a png file, similar to how I left the files for the A6M. They will be included in the correction of my "empty" skins).

4.The instrument panel and cockpit color have been corrected. (There is one important note about it; in the daytime, the backlight is a little annoying. This effect looks good at night. Therefore, I intend to fix this by making separate completely transparent textures - “Z clocks night”.

5.  New types of twisting propeller have been added for two bladed propellers (look at the photo).

(As for the appearance of the spinning propeller, I used a completely identical propeller (see photo) using radial blur. I tried to remove the black visibility effect as much as possible. So that it would not be too noticeable. If you don’t like it, you can replace it with a standard texture).

B1:

B2,C,D,D-Late:

6. Skin has been made for the Bf-109 D1 Late series.

7. New texture for the machine gun.

+ png files

The files will appear in the download very soon, I think tomorrow, or after tomorrow I will finish.

And one more thing...

a pleasant surprise! These fixes will weigh a little - at this stage - 194mb.

Today I returned to the topic of a new exhaust manifold.
I'm currently working on the E1 and E3 series. So far I have not been able to achieve the result I would like. I decided to write. I know it probably sounds stupid. But it would be good if we could make a new 3D view for the engine, and in fact just remove the old view of the manifold. Remove it by editing the 3D model itself. I don’t understand anything about this, and I don’t have the opportunity to study this topic yet. This would allow me not to touch the main skins in the game. And give up any “holes” that arise when working with the alpha channel. I'm barely trying to finish this Bf-109 project right now. And I would really like for its final appearance to take on a more accurate form. Of course, you can also remove those areas that I marked “black”, since these individual parts can also be replaced. But if this is difficult, then at least the area where the exhaust manifold is located...
Maybe it will be easy for someone to do this, and then we can try to update this part for all subsequent models. Make another change for our favorite game.
