« on: July 31, 2023, 02:26:32 PM »

Im new to the modding of 1946. ive noticed when i drop nuclear arms the explosions are never rendering for me, i cant see a mushroom cloud unless one close enough for it to kill me. is there any way to increase bomb explosion graphics to render father away?

Have you searched for long distance visibility mod?

i have failed in my venture and reading his explanations only further that confusion. i dont have a mods part of my conf.ini folder so i made one, and i added the 3 classfiles to seperate folders and put them in the classfiles of each era and it didnt work. probably need to start fresh wth a new il2 download now

Your game should have a #WAW3 folder. Drop the folder containing my classfiles there, where all other mods go.

For future reference, note that classfiles must reside in a mod's root folder if the mod has sub-folders.

how do i choose which distance i want with the classfiles? i see the three i need and i have them all in a single root folder. also my mods are not kept in #WAW3 but in a separate BATMODS folder in my direct il2 game, am i doing it wrong? i used JSGME for mod loading other mods for simpler install, but now i have lost the plot so to speak

Hello!
Here is what I asked WxTech when he first released the mod:
"Let me see if I am understanding this correctly:
I chose to use the longest distance version for the latest BAT. So I created a folder which is a copy of the mod's root (!!!_Long_Visual_Distance_for_BAT), and I put in only the three class files from the version I want to try, and nothing else. I then put that folder in the #WAW3 mods folder. Is that correct, Sir? (And thank you, btw, for this offering ;) I'm excited by the prospect of a little more visibility!)
Bird

And here is his reply:
"Bird,
You got it, Park Pontiac!"

Not all mods are able to be loaded with JSGME. So if a modder says to put something directly
into #WAW3 that's what you want to do.

Good luck, mate.  :)

understood, i got it to work finally and i found that my actual batmods folder conf isnt held in #waw3 but in direct il2 folder. i changed the values and it works in all of the versions of the game. i do have one question as to change the allotted virtual memory in the il2 selector. i already have 6000mb of it alloted from my sysdm.cpl but il2 selector wont recognize this increase.
