Turn on Lights freeze the game
« on: July 03, 2023, 03:52:47 PM »

Hello everyone. Sorry my English...I have a strange problem...when the landing lights illuminate certain objects or aircraft skins, the game freezes and the screen flashes. Immediately, I turn off the lights and everything is back to normal... When I go to Video Options and set Object Lightning FLAT, the problem doesn't show up... BUT... the lights are limited to the ground, and the objects lose their lighting.. .misconfiguration in conf.ini? Video card? After researching, I have already tried several changes, but without success... anyone with the same problem? Thanks in advance...

No, Nvidia... Well, is a discrete video card GeForce GTX 650, but it works pretty well except for this problem...

Hello AlfreS,

which driver, which operating system?

I've selected the current driver for your graphics card (Win10, Win11) here:

https://www.nvidia.de/download/driverResults.aspx/208973/de

If this driver doesn't solve your problem, I would install an older driver for the old graphics card if I were you.

I also fly with older Nvidia cards (GTX 670 and GTX 760), but have never had the problem you describe.

(If you have installed the drivers for your GTX 650 from the enclosed CD from the graphics card manufacturer, replace these drivers.)

Then you remove the driver that is now installed on your computer.

I've selected the current driver for your graphics card (Win10, Win11) here:

https://www.nvidia.de/download/driverResults.aspx/208973/de

Good luck and best regards

As I am struggling with AMD drivers...just snapping at them...so you should try first tweak your conf.ini (not just the in-game video options) https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,9756.msg102914.html#msg102914 then you could also try to use alternative IL2core.dll that are available on this site.
