.....

As I pointed out in the readme, these simple clouds do not look so good for the bad weather types.

And again, their existence is intended for less capable hardware, being more applicable years ago. That's why I first asked if anyone was using this option today, given how more powerful computers are now and at comparatively low prices.

....these simple clouds do not look so good for the bad weather types....

Personally I don't think so....as stated in my post I doesn't like to start a discussion about their apparence....but this because we could fall in personal interpretations....anyway to be complete I have to specify again that their aspect is good and more relaistic , only the coverage , generated by game engine , is too scarce to realistically replicate a blind sky....

I haven't looked into the algorithm by which AI inability to see through clouds is constructed.

I'm reasonably certain it applies only to these cumulus type clouds, not the high cirrus layer.

I can't see why the type 0 clouds shouldn't be considered, for they are made in the same way as the type 1 clouds, just with rather fewer texture elements.

I suspect the size of the cloud elements is considered, but that's certainly not a sure guess.  ;)

I've now don a Black Death track Benchmarks test with Fraps and the "Simple cumulus cloud texture" and it made no significant improvement on the frame rate.
Perhaps the  Black Death track is not a good way of testing this...

The good news are that I've now after a few Nvidia tweaks better frame rate using your effects and the AI overheat mod than in default BAT WAW.  :)

The simple cloud option, as I've stated, is primarily for those hobbled with less capable hardware. It's a carry over from the old days, and I offer here merely my own texture. If one can use the 4096 texture dlls, chances are this simple cloud will avail of no performance improvement.

UPDATE, Jul 25, 2023: I've updated the texture, as described in the top post.
