I'm having a lot of trouble with overheating. This makes it very difficult to fly the plane and if I take off on auto-pilot it overheats and crashes every time. Is there a serious problem here or am I just doing something wrong?

Unless I'm mistaken, here's what I found that might explain your problem... unless I'm mistaken!
For BAT, this aircraft has an fmd (D18.fmd) which calls the emd included in the BAT buttons (M-25_Series.emd - motor M-22).
It contains the line :
  TESPEED 0.021

For a long time now, people have preferred to cheat and set 0.007 or 0.009.  :D   :D   ;)

Try this new external FM...

At the time of finalizing this mod I used the already available FM that we should remember was conceived for an AI only plane.  This FM is not really satisfactory and even the reference to the M-25 Series engine is historically wrong.

But in order to quickly made the flyable version available and minimize incompatibility with the previous version I kept the original FM. I also didn't had sufficient information on the engines actually used and the flying characteristic of this model. Moreover considering the very long service time for this plane (from the '30s to '70s) it would be quite challenging to workout an historically correct FM.

So user need to be patient and remember that AI never ever overheats. Let's say they have a very skillful engine management :).

In BAT there is also a second M25Series.emd that has a TESPEED of 0.021

Many thanks Epervier, you have solved the problem for me. I understand why there was a problem and please don't think I am trying to be critical. Now I hope we are all happy.

It means that now he will be intrigued and face the dilemma to choose between the two, therefore "embarassed" due to the rich choice

Thanks a lot for the clarification!

Wrote the polar according to the profile schedule.
I wrote the dimensions and areas according to the drawing.
Also, this aircraft has a very strong forward center of gravity.
Centering returns to normal after filling the cabin with passengers and luggage.
