Fw 190A-6/R11
« on: March 08, 2023, 01:26:19 PM »

Since there is no A6/R11 in IL2, these skin templates have been adapted to the R8.

Only two aircraft, but four skins.

There are multiple opinions about Fritz Krause's White 11, I drew the three most common versions.

A6-R11 Fritz Krause I./NJG-10

A6-R11 II.JG300

And one A5:

10./NJG 3

Thanks to Mick for the tests and research.

Since there is no A6/R11 in IL2
There is one in Ultrapack.
With working radar.
Just saying.
It's called A6/R8 (and in fact mostly it is), but the version with MK 108 wing cannons resembles the A6/R11.

...resembles the A6/R11, without being one, it is not clear!

Let me try to shed some light on this.
There's an Fw 190 A-6/R8 on exhibition in the South African National Museum of Military History.
They call it "A6/R6" on the infoplate, but most sources refer to this particular plane - WkNr 550214, "PN+LU", flown for evaluation purpose by III/NJG 11, as an Fw 190 A-6/R8, so that's the designation we stick to.
The difference between "Rüstsatz" R8 and R11 lies in the radar being used and hence the antenna layout corresponding to it.
In order not to waste plane slots, we decided to merge the "Rüstsätze" R8 and R11 on the Fw 190 A-6 by turning them into loadout options.
When you select the Mk 108 Wing Cannons on our Fw 190 A-6/R8, you get the R11 Rüstsatz with the corresponding antenna layout effectively.

Here you can see a couple of pictures taken from the 190 down is South Africa, including two where I can be seen on.
