Can't run IL-2 1946 GOG version
« on: February 18, 2023, 06:08:21 PM »

Hello!

I have been trying to run the GOG version of IL-2 1946 on a Windows 10 PC, but it won't launch at all. I've tried running at a bunch of different resolutions, switching OpenGL mode and DirectX mode, and running it on administrator mode, but nothing happened. Also, the game is not on Program Files or Program Files x86 (since I heard that may cause problems).

After that, I downloaded the Selector and tried using the Startup Debugger, but the startuplog.txt file is always blank.

Important: I am trying to run this game on a pretty old machine, which only has an Intel HD 2000 as its GPU (I figured this may cause some problems).

Apreciate any help.

Hi bomberkiller, thanks for the reply!

The post you linked seems to be about installing B.A.T. on a GOG copy, which I'm not trying to do (I'm just trying to get the base game to work first). Is there anything else to that thread I didn't see?

This might be worth mentioning: Looking around the forum, I found a post with a similar problem (GOG copy, nothing happens when launching). However, they managed to find the problem using the startup debbuger, and mine only outputs a blank file, as mentioned before.
