Bv138-C1-MS (4.09 Rebel Base) Epervier-IES team
« on: December 06, 2022, 07:55:42 AM »

:)  Unfortunately, it appears that Asura's beautiful 3D model cannot be clad, so I am making available the skins I had prepared for Dimon's Bv138 C that can be used on the same model published by Epervier in the "4.09 Rebel Base" section.
Since he included the same skins in 1Mb format in the package, I thought that someone might find those in 12Mb format useful, with the addition of an "east front" skin. I remind you that in order to be visible in the skins window you must enter the title as "Bv_138C1" and "Bv_138MS" and not the one incorrectly suggested in the "readme".The skins can also be used in the 'Minenjäger' model.

So here is the 12Mb link:    https://www.mediafire.com/file/24ng5nc9sy66rhb/Blohm_%2526_Voss_BV_138-Epervier%25282048%2529.rar/file

These rule. thanks. Have a request. Would it be possible to do a post-war skin for west germany for the demining one. I always thought the west german gov kept some for the role after the war instead of waiting on western planes. if ya can that would be great. Makes for some fictional demining mssions

Wikipedia says :-|....but historical documents say otherwise - a frequent situation:
There was post war use of 4 BV-138...in the RAF!:
This is taken from and old post by Peter D Evans on forum.12oclockhigh.net:

According to "War Prizes" by Phil Butler [Midland, 1994], three of these Bv138s surrendered at Kastrup-See and were selected for evaluation on 9th June 1945. They were initially identified as "AirMin S-2" etc... but the relationship between these identities and their true AirMin numbers has not yet been traced. Details are:

AM 69 - Blohm und Voss Bv138 - WNr.unknown

AM 70 - Blohm und Voss Bv138C-1 - WNr.0310081 - aircraft of Fa125 delivered to MAEE Felixstowe on 15th Dec 1945 and allocated RAF Serial VN881. Eventually scrapped circa Nov 1947.

AM S-2 - Blohm und Voss Bv138B-1 - WNr.unknown - coded "B" was flown from Kastrup-See to Kiel on 16th June 1945, making a test flight from Kiel the same day. On 19th June it flew from Kiel to Calshot, via Enkhuizen on the Zuider-Zee, The Netherlands (making made a stop at Enkhuizen on 19th June 1945).
This Bv.138  was allocated RAF serial no VK895 on 26th July. When observed in Oct 46, it still wore both Air Min S-2 and VK895. Struck of Charge on 3rd Jan 1948.

AM 71 - Blohm und Voss Bv138 - WNr.unknown

The "The Captive Luftwaffe" by Kenneth West [Putnam, 1978] says that they had black upper and side surfaces, dark blue wing undersurfaces with small RAF roundels on the tail booms and under the wings.

Skins for the AM S-2 would indeed be nice  ;)

...THX for this, DreamK, but dsawan was wondering about West Germany use of the Bv-138 MS ...  ;)

... hence, after research (not only with Wiki) I wrote "there is no trace of any post war use of the Bv-138 MS" ... ;)

But you are right, Wiki is not always trustworthy, since its content is not always written by "specialists", as it is an open encyclopedia ... :-X

:)But dear dsawan, if you get me an image with a reliable "West german" 1946/47 livery, I could try to make a skin for you.  ;)

Hi, ok I see what I can do. I too haven't found any sources. I guess if i cannot find one how about the RAF captured one mentioed above by dreamK. I guess the west german had the RAF do the demining work besides ships or trawlers in the harbors after the war.
