Thank you guys, you did the most work on this. After way too many delays, I've decided to release this pack as is. Please keep in mind this is not finished and so many issues remain unresolved.
Known issues:
- Crashing while in gunner view freezes the game.
- Engine sound tends to stall the game for a bit if game is left paused for extended period of time.
- Engines can be damaged a bit if you do not throttle down on an air-start for the prop-pitch mechanism to catch up.
- Nose art does not work.
- Side-gunner positions share a single turret, so one of them has trouble firing, guns become semi-automatic when operating them.
- Radar is very performance heavy at high range settings.
- Aircraft can and WILL nose over on landing if speed is too low while engine RPM are low, if that happens, push throttle forward immediately, there is a problem somewhere in the FM which I was unable to find.
- AI has problems landing with full fuel load, for short sorties lower AI's fuel load to some 70%. (Lowering weight below real aircraft's max landing weight listed in its manual works, incidentally.)
- Engines can overheat easily; conversely, using water-methanol injection seems to do a lot to prevent them from overheating.
- One of the nukes spawns tail first, I need to pick a better spawn for it...
Missing features:
- No bombsight-radar integration yet.
- Radar gain and brightness functions not fully implemented.
- No radio beacon beam on radar.
- Gunners operate same as in vanilla game and original B-29 mod, in reality it works very differently but is also very difficult to code properly in game.
- Water-methanol injection is not limited yet.
- Tu-4 is left untouched bar minimal changes in the FM.
- No separate classes for recce variants yet.
- No stationary objects for the new variants.
And now some features:
- Several variants of the B-29 and B-50.
- Realistic loadouts with most bombs having individual spawn points (legacy loadouts retained).
- Modified default drop method for AI, this way they do not time out half-way through their drop.
- Ground mapping radar.
- Realistic climb and speed performance for us masochists (AI can handle it). Pick a longer runway and mind the take off weight.
- Air to air refueling.
- Fuel load increased to real values (it is a lot of fuel, up to 25.7t on B-50D - with external wing tanks, or 17.9t on B-29, vs vanilla 15t on the latter). I do not recommend using it all unless flying very far with a lighter bomb load.
Warning:
- This mod requires Western's engine mod and version 4.12.2, it will not run without it.
- This mod is NOT COMPATIBLE with 3D redux mods, it includes a new set of spawn points for bombs, these would need to get converted first.

Notes on handling:- She climbs slowly, have patience.
- Supercharger is automated as in the real thing. It will work until just over 9 km of altitude with 95% ish effectiveness at that altitude, performance drops off fast past that point. This is realistic and you can still reach the listed service ceilings with careful flying.
- Take off run will be long.
- On take off, add power gradually, doing otherwise might over-rev the engine leading to damage and more importantly - excessive torque before rudder becomes effective might weer you off runway, using brakes and asymmetric throttle in the initial phase of take off is advised.
- On landing, abrupt power change can throw your plane around, be prepared for it. (But you can use it to get you out of the nose-dive bug.)
