Suggestions for DCG campaigns?
« on: November 22, 2022, 11:57:22 AM »

I believe there are still people who like DCG as all the campaigns I make seem to get a few downloads   8)

As I seem to be the only one who is currently making DCG campaigns for BAT I would like to know what you folks would like to see.
What kind of campaigns would you like to play? Which battles you would like to see? Would you like to see historical or fantasy battles? Or something in between?

I'm open for suggestions. Just tell me what kind of a DCG campaign would you like to see.  I just might do it. Or, I may help if you want to do it yourself - I would like to see other DCG campaign creators, too   ;)

Personally, I like to see DCG campaigns for new maps as they arrive in game. Mixx's new Timor-Darwin map would be a great candidate, I think. Another somewhat overlooked map, unfortunately, is Mixx's Arctic Finland map. It would be perfect for the Battle of Salla. This arctic map has wonderful winter textures and is a very good size for a DCG campaign. The Darwin map is a bit large. I enjoy long flights, but I realize that not everyone does.

I have installed both of these and so I do not know whether either is standard in BAT now. That is a big consideration, I know.

Good idea  8)

I'll check whether the maps are in BAT, I have currently no additional maps installed (re-installed BAT a little while ago)

Especially battle of Salla sounds interesting and as I am a Finn I know the battle quite well. A small problem is that there were only very limited aerial war in that battle.  :-|  But I will definately consider it.

I'd like to see campaign for the Fairey Barracuda.  Either Pacific or Atlantic.   Also would like to see Campaigns for the lesser known Jap bombers like Lily, Nell, Sonia, Francis, Helen etc.    Im terrible at making them myself.

Thank you. Me too, I sort of like Barracuda. I like the idea if I can find a suitable battle.  I'll start searching for one.

Also would like to see Campaigns for the lesser known Jap bombers like Lily, Nell, Sonia, Francis, Helen etc.

I always use Japanese names and I have hard time remembering those allied reporting names. I have used Ki-48 Sokei (was that Lily?) twice, in Battle of Guilin-Liuzhou I released less than a month ago: https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,69861.0.html  and in Burma campaign (quite old, haven't checked compatibility with latest BAT): https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,66032.0.html

Already done: https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,66032.0.html

However,  I think I'll return to CBI theatre one of these days.  8)

WWI campaigns for DCG would be nice.  ;)

I only know of this one by Lonestar67 from 2014, made for DBW1916:

Hallo,  I think about a campaign based all on japanese seaplanes, moving from little isles seabases against naval allied forces , allied submergibles or supplies convoys.
The seaplanes could have as opposite forces enemies air patrollers, air naval defences etc.
They could defend the seabases or their convoys.
I find japanese seaplanes amazing and the seaplane bases exotic .
Thanks for attention

Best regards

Hi!
I would like to fight at the beginning of the Allied offensive over Europe. Operations Circus, Rhubarb, night intruder flights etc. But of course also on the German side as Abbeville Boys - on early FW-190 types etc.  :)
Regards

Personally I would like to see a Lancaster campaign. Sure doing the same night raiding routine would get stale after awhile but having different targets with different levels of defenses could mean for either suicide mission into the heart of the Rhineland or a calming raid on the Tirpitz. The campaign could include Operation Chastise or a fictional Lancaster raid on key Japanese cities as part of Tiger Force.

I had suggested the Suez Crisis, Id love to fly wyverns but I guess is not possible unless we somehow trick dates.

I think we could use a pacific DCG carrier and ground based camapign as the pacfic has been sort of neglected.
