Hello. I'm looking to play the game on a more modern PC with an AMD processor, only problem is it refuses to launch. Simply boots me to the desktop upon launch.

I should also mention I'm using a trash can HP (Horrible Product) PC. The PC in question runs Windows 11.

First, I suspect you haven't done this, so I highly recommend turning on file extensions.

Anyway, to the meat of the issue: the file you're looking for is log.lst, not initlog.lst. Initlog.lst only has entries from peripheral programs and such. Log.lst is the file that has the log output from the main game itself.

If your game doesn't generate a log.lst, find the file conf.ini, look for the "[Console]" section of the file, and make sure you have

But, if your description is accurate, and the game window doesn't appear, then the game might not be capable of generating a log.lst. In that case, the only thing left to do is take potshots in the dark. I recommend making sure your window scaling is set to 100%.

Also worth a try is changing the game window properties to make it non-fullscreen, and make the window dimensions smaller than your monitor dimensions. This can be done in the [window] section of the conf.ini by setting FullScreen=0 and changing the width=... and height=... settings.

If you've tried all of that, and the game hasn't generated a log and is still crashing, then it's FUBAR for all intents and purposes unless someone more knowledgeable comes along.

Hi, those options are set, but the game crashes before it can be generated. Window scaling is 100%, and I've tried windowed mode. No luck. The splash screen shows up for about a second, then disappears.

My CPU is an AMD Athlon Silver 3050U

...go in main game folder and start with console.exe.

console.exe doesn't exist, all I have is console.cmd and all it does is display "This app can't run on your PC"

Don't forget to force Windows to display the file extensions... of all files...
It's convenient and it's more reliable...

Sorry for super late reply. File extensions are enabled. I've tried the game on an Intel PC and it works just fine. Most YouTubers that play this game use Intel. I think this is an incompatibly with AMD processors in general and I don't think it's fixable without editing the executable

I'm using a modern AMD CPU with Radeon Graphics (Intergraded) on Windows 11. I think it's an Athlon Silver, from around 2019. On that CPU, the game doesn't run at all. Runs for a few μs then crashes, and crashes before it could generate a log. It could simply be an incompatibility with my AMD CPU model, or I'm doing something wrong.

• Use a genuine, legal Windows 11 version.
• Don't use any fancy anti-virus software. Use Windows Defender.
• Don't fiddle with UAC settings, leave them on default.
• If you've been using some kind of "windows optimization" software: Reinstall Windows from scratch.
  Seriously.
  No other way.
• Don't fiddle with DEP settings.
  If you did, reset DEP to essential Windows Programs and Services only.

In that order.

Let me explain a bit.

1. I did not pirate Windows. I've upgraded with a legal, HP OEM copy of Windows 10 that was included with the computer. I'm even paying for Microsoft Office personal, and all the revenue goes to Microsoft. I have purchased legal copies of my software, and I've bought the game from Steam.
2. I forcefully removed Macafee from my PC with a absolute fuckton of tools. Windows Defender is the only AV on the system.
3. UAC was turned off when I last tried it, and I'll see if that fixes it.
4. I didn't install Regclean Pro or some other "optimizer" software because that simply slows down my PC. The only modification made was a debloat because Windows 11 is bloated to hell and back.
5. I'll reset DEP back to the setting you specified.

Does your native screen resolution match the resolution in the conf.ini file? (Mismatch can create startup problems.)
Did you move your IL2 folder out of the steamapps\common folder? (Having IL2 in either "Program Files" folder or "Program Files (x86)" can cause problems.
